Diversity kills the Blues ?

Are the blues a victum of our clutural diversity in NSW.   In Qld kids who want to make a career out of football dream to play for Qld even above Australia.    The Blues are a team with great pacific Island nation talent......Is playing for the Blues a dream or representing their country of birth and family more so ??

Does it mater as much ?  I hope I am absolutely wrong on Wednesday...

  • Grasping at straws dude, to believe NSW footy is a victim because of a person representing a small footy nation of their heritage at world cups.

Why dont you make the same argument about Mitch Moses representing Lebanon or James Tedesco representing Italy from 2013 -2017 I hope its not because of the colour of their skin.

For the record the Queensland team have proud Samoans and a Kiwi in their team, does that count as diversified under your definition as well.

    • This Blog was NEVER about skin colour it was a question about want.    I am a peron of colour and would never post a racist Blog. Apologies if you felt it was ....

  • Felise Kaufusi, Tino, Murray Taulagi, David Fifita, Jeremiah Nanai, Mo Foruaika, and that's just in their current team have plenty of Islander heritage, doesn't seem to be a problem for Qld.
As a proud Blue who grew up in Qld I can tell you that Sydneysiders simply don't get it. Young Qld boys grow up with one ambition and one only, to wear the Maroon jersey. The club jersey is just a stepping stone to that Maroon jersey.

Look at Wayne Bennett, he's coached the Raiders, Broncos, Dragons, Knights, Rabbitohs & Dolphins, he's coached Qld, NZ& Eng, and when asked woukd he coach the Blues, he simply replied, "I'm a Queenslander". Nothing else needed to be said

    • Indeed Coryn. And picking superstar backs that are injured or have self interest above team does not work.

  • Diversity has killed a lot of things but the blues are not one of them , the blues problems start with the people who pick the coach and set the standard .

Qld have Slater , Thurston and Smith while NSW  have 2 airheads and Brandy .

    • I don't even know how Brandy gets a start on the Origin selection team. The bloke played less Origins than the homeless bloke outside the stadium ,and he's flipped and flopped with the selections and pretty much put his own hurt feelings with RCG before the team. Having him on the selection committee whilst QLD have immortals is an embarrassment. His unashamed bias whilst commentating reflects his professionalism in this role.

      • Yeh I'm ok w Fittler - brandy is painful and I agree re his professionalism

I loved Daley as coach 🤷‍♀️personally

      • I feel sorry for Moses , the biggest game of his life and he is being prepared by a Fittler and  Johns  .

Brandy only cares about having as many Panthers players as possible , can't stand the cunt .

    • I agree. The silver lining if we lose tomorrow will be the end of the Fred & Brand era.

    • True that is Frankie. It's a legacy from the Gus Gould days and his maté's taking the  mantle.. 9 old boys club..

NSW have some quality young Coaches and ex Origin hardheaded experience to guide them, we need to back a brains trust that will pick a committed bunch with a team first attitude and as Coryn says a roll the sleeves up whatever it takes type attitude.
