DISh it out evenly

After all the talk and controversy of the storm, whether the team should be split up or the talk of players going elsewhere doesn't anyone think that the nrl should give the players to the teams that arent or havent been doing well in the last season or two. Even the talk of gasnier coming back to the dragons i think he should sign with a lower team. Teams like the raiders, warriors or sharks have no real big name stars and cannot attract big name players because their is no player they wanna play with. If Inglis or gasnier played for the raiders even for a year it would bolster them and allow other players to want to move to their.
Why should a team like the dragons which are going really well and have been one of the top teams be allowed to get gasnier back. To make the comp more even and allow other teams to get a "super star" have him go elsewhere. All this talk of Inglis, Cronk or Slater going to other clubs like the dogs, dragons and even our eels why not let them go to elsewhere to a team that deserve them.
I mean look at how steve prices move to the warriors helped them, if he didnt go their players like kemp, tate and maybe even inu and mateo wouldnt be there.

  • Blame Terry Hill, we would have a player draft it it wasn't for him and his legal team
    • Dig the fancy communist hammer and sickle there Darkie.. But mate with it shimmering like that it does give off the impression though that it looks like 24 carot gold!.. or is it a sign of the times the "Reds under the bed" are now moving to the tune of a capitalist Western world ;)
    • My thoughts entirely ;-) Sounds like we have a young Karl Marx on our hands!
  • but this would force a player to live in a place he may not want to live or it may be impossible for him to live in that area. also a player may feel uncomfortable with the players and coaching staff at that club.
  • Pretty sure Gasnier had an agreement that IF he returned to NRL it could only be with St G.

As for a draft system, it does work relatively well with AFL who openly admit that it is not the definitive answer to the salary cap problem but does alleviate a lot of drama.

These guys are supposedly proffessional sportsmen so why don't they learn to suck it up and play for 1 or 2 years with a club or coach who is not their first choice. AND PLAY TO THEIR MAXIMUM ABILITY.
  • Agree with everything said on the draft... and I don't think Price has helped the warriors a lot anyway. Every team can sign big name players with a salary cap. Even the sharks have had their share of origin players in the last 10 years
