I have been a part member (interstate) of the Parramatta Eels since 2019. This year I decided not to renew the membership due to finances. In April I am coming to see my mum and Dad in Sydney and had picked out the Parramatta Eels v tigers as the only game I would see this season. I have been excited for this. I was needing tickets for my 3 children and myself and 2 elderly parents. I was shocked to see that the pre-member sale is now over and yet still the tickets are still listed at $67 for juniors (lowest price) and $87 for adults (lowest price for tickets). How absurd that I would pay $479 for 3 adults and 3 kids (one of whom is just 4 years old), for a normal season match. I have been watching the Eels since 1986 and have been to many, many games including to the 2021 GF to which i paid way less for those tickets. I am really disappointed that they think it is ok to charge this kind of money. For a state of origin or finals match maybe but this is a normal competition match. I can't pay that amount.

Where I live in Queensland I paid around $90 to a day at magic round for 4 of us. Compare that to nearly $500 for ther Tigers match all be it we are needing 2 more ticklets for that game. Absurdity.

I have written to the club but these days there is no way to contact management and no way to ring and ask questions. It is the nameless generation where you cant make a phone call.

  • So...just watch it on tv

    • Yeh Ill be doing that for the other 20 odd matches. This was a game we really wanted to go for. Do you actually think its ok to charge a family nearly $500 for a game? Are you a family man Fiddy

      • Yes i am a family man, and i live in sydney and pay sydney prices on everything...my boy is 3.5 only so he is too young to take to games so i just watch on tv

    • To put it into perspective Fiddy - I could go to the Roosters v Eels Match just a few rounds later for $140 at Comm Bank. They have spiked the tigers match and Panthers match. All other games are 140 for the lower priced tickets which is fairly priced and I am happy to pay. I would pay up to $200 for 6 tickets but not $480. Its just really bad from the club

  • $67 as the lowest entry price for a kid does indeed seem steep as fuck

  • Yer, what a way to grt families through the front gate. I assume cause its the western derby and they are more popular they feel they can charge more. Do t then go thinking about food and drink while inside the stadium for you all. You will need a small loan for that! Lol

I get up for maybe a couple of games a year and generally its just me going so i just wear the cost (along with the travelling from canberra bit).

  • Unfortunately it's simply supply and demand. This is one game that sells out. With ticketed members given priority as they should be there's not that many available seats. Other home games you can attend for a lot cheaper.

    • Are u happy with that? Yes I guess its capitalism but at its worst. Will the future be Eels v Panthers $100 a ticket and Gold Coast v eels $20 a ticket. Dangerous precedent for mine

      • Well it is a bit like a concert. A ticket for Taylor Swift will cost more than a ticket for say Maroon 5. Plus both will play at different venues which ups the price,

Seeing Parramatta v Penrith as a rivalry plus Penrith doing so well of course you try to make as much money as possible. I thankfully will not pay that much with my platnum season ticket which averages out to around $59 a game but V'Landys and co. need to step in.

      • It's basically the first game of the season that sells out. If you'd have maintained any form of membership (even non-ticketed) you would have received the member discount and had access to the member window.
