Don’t watch the rubbish!
They only took the points we acquired from games where we put out an illegal team. From the point we got under the salary cap (by shedding players) we could play for points again (but could not keep our ill-gotten points).
That is just 2 current players named but there are 15 players involved. How many more are current players.
Rumours that manly threatened Greenberg with exposing his illegal offer to lure foran to bulldogs back in day seem have some substance when look at punishment.
Also 1 of same player managers involved that was involved in parra. Surely they can not avoid giving him a lengthy suspension but once again the manager will threaten Greenberg that he will spill the beans on more clubs and possible himself so will continue to be involved in the game.
Interesting that there couple token 12 month suspensions. Must be the only people involved with no evidence linking TG to any dodgy deals.
I read on Saturday that the NRL were going to hand down the findings today - handy timing yes, but not intentional.
The evidence of their rorting was not as severe as ours - just as ours was not as severe as the Storm - hence you have differing penalties. I don't find any of it all that surprising.
As for them having something on Greenberg, clearly they don't. That's a hefty fine and I think you'll find Manly will appeal. If they had something that so compromised Greenberg, well they would have played that card by now.
Ray Hadley? He doesn't work for the NRL and can choose to report on whatever he chooses. He's not a journalist you realise? Just a loud mouth hack pushing certain agendas; his mate Fitzy in the Parra example and presumably his mateship with Bozo means this gets left alone. It's up to him.
The real issue is what the NRL is going to do about TPA's and when are we going to hear about player managers.
Is it really a hefty fine ? It’s not really now is it ?
*Warriors cap breach almost a DECADE AND A HALF ago .
*1 million over the cap in 04 and 05 , discovered prior to season 2006 however are made to start 2006 on minus 4 points . - Fined $430,000
Manly Breach all these years later only fined $500,000 ( with a further 250k suspended ) for a 1.5 million breach with no points lost even though it was also discovered post season .
Now if you compare the two the fines seem disproportionate to me . The fines only gone up 70k ? I’d say Manlys be given a huge favour here by not losing points and a fine that isn’t even equivalent to a marque players salary .
Certainly grounds to at least consider their maybe some truth to Todd going a bit light on them .
