Discussion blog and review

So I haven't posted for a while which is a good thing for everyone else. Life sucks is all I'm going to say.

Yes, our boys are sitting in 6th position and have excited a lot of people. A lot of you would of been happy with 6th right now from what most tip the start of the year.

We are just making up numbers at the moment if we do make the finals. We need to improve massively in attack and defence. Our fuck speed in is up to young gun Mahoney. When he is at his best we win. When he is off we lose, which is why we need a short term answer. Reynolds would be a great addition if we can get him cheap. Them two together at hooker is the combination we are missing.

Next signings for next year. A lot of people want Welch and rcg ahead of Arrow. I picked Arrow years ago and this kid is going to be massive.  He would become the next hindmarsh and would be a true leader the club can build around for the future.  Welch is off my list now, knee injury you are gone as a prop. Which is sad because he was a good workhorse. Rcg would only take us for a ride I believe, never seen much in him to be honest even when he was playing for the blues and Aus. There's a lot better going around right now for cheaper.

The last thing is reffing this year, it's only getting worst every year. Getting to tentical for them all now. Plus picking manly/Melbourne grand final. Manly to win sadly.

  • I don’t think we will be making up the numbers, particularly if we can stay in the top 6. I wouldn’t be backing against us in a home final.

Jai Arrow as much as I like him is a long shot for us. If he does leave the Titans, and I don’t think he will, will most likely go to the Sharks.

          • Agreed bro. In playing sport, I've never had a major injury but I drifted away from contact sports in my late teens for girls, surfing, drugs and traveling.

Remember after playing my rugby game when I was 14 for Waverley College watching A grade at Queens Park Waverley v Scotts College and witnessed close in front of me on the eastern sideline a tackle on a mate that went horribly wrong. It badly broke his leg in a few places with bones sticking out in different directions where they should never have been. It was that bad, gut wrenching.

At the time I was also playing league for Bondi United as a fullback and 5/8. It was the beginning of walking away from the game and I don't have any regrets. John Rheinberger, Waverley College, played in that game. As a centre, he went on to play for the Roosters in the 1975 grand final when Jack Gibson plucked him as a kid out of the under 23's. He also played for Bondi United.

I just didn't have a stomach for bad injuries - saw too many bad ones, particularly knees and ankles.

CW may recover but with three major knee injuries to both legs, this will slow him down now, well at least for two to three years and this will impact his lateral movements as a prop come back rower.

Crikey's the work you have to put in to get back to the top is such a big mountain to climb and a few have done this, getting back to their (almost) best, Steve Ella, with three major knee reconstructions (if I remember correctly) before he even cracked our top grade. And then there was David Woods, possibly the greatest young attacking centre Ive even seen play the game before all his serious knee and ankle injuries destroyed his promising career and before it even started at the top grade. What a shadow he quickly became of his potential greatness

My heart pours out to CW. I would not be buying him now unless he came really cheap.
