Walking into Mick Simmons and Rebel in the city, there are many NFL jerseys and caps. Prior to his failed wet dream experience, I could never find that stuff in store.

I've seen them in rebel in previous years running into the finals, but that's the only time of the year you'll find them anywhere. Anyone who wasn't interested in NFL prior to him playing isn't likely to watch it now that he's not playing anymore.
The Hayne / NFL thing was like Swatch watches and Hypercolour T-Shirts . A few sheep got on the merchandise bandwagon whilst it was cool , its long forgotten . The only people left watching that stupid boring game now are the diehards that were watching it long before Princess tried and failed .

What do you mean bandwagon, I still have a Swatch watch and play Pog in my hypercolour tshirt with my Rachael haircut.
Oh shit I forgot to feed my tamagotchi.
Still the same teams though. I'm a Rams fan. They don't exist in Australian stores. Probably for a good reason ;)
I think there's now 49ers gear when that wasn't previously sold.
The World is getting far more globalised. Soccer, gridiron etc are actually becoming a "thing" here. Blokes at work, especially the betting folk, seem to be talking more and more about these other Sports. I remember back in high school if anyone ever went to the states they'd come back with a seemingly fake interest in NFL to be "cool" but now it seems people actually really do take an interest in foreign Sports.
I don't know a single person that could name more than 5 current NFL , NBA , NHL or WSB ( is it World Series Baseball ?) players . As far as I'm aware other than the pommy EPL which is huge in Wollongong , these other overhyped Yanky crappy sports aren't really a thing down here for anyone other than the young white dude wankers wearing their black dude basketball singlets .
"TDS is still young, with plenty of improvement left in him. He could still play Flegg in 2026 ffs. And despite being two years younger than Ryley Smith, he has played nine more NRL games."
"HFK, Fair point. Sure, we could. But balancing incoming youth with experience is almost a perennial issue. A constant cycle. It never really goes away. At least not for too long. "
