  We're over the cap this year hence the points docked. U can't earn points while over the cap, that was also the whole basis of the dogs and storm penalties

    It's just a load of hogwash.
    The reason we are over the cap this year is because they've added TPAs from previous years to this year.
    The team as currently fielded, by all intents and purposes, are salary cap compliant this year. This is why this is all a load of shit.

  No specifics were outlined, but they said that players were paid under the table in addition to TPA breaches. Sharp was lying to our faces this whole time. Or he is in complete denial. It's no use demanding that the NRL reveal exactly what the club did. They have the evidence against the club and will use it if they have to.

    No I think the fans have every right to know the exact details of what the club did. If they want to stop speculation and conspiracy theories then they have to supply this information. You cant just hammer a club this way and not supply the details into why.

  The amount advised over the cap for the last 3 or four years does that include the amounts we were over and fined on previous years . A distinction should be made between the amounts we were fined and the new Amounts uncovered

  The NRL need to outline, point by point, exactly where and how much the Eels have cheated the cap.
  There's no point saying they need to shed $570k, what is this amount and what does it consist of. It's only fair that the players, fans and theta so of other clubs no the enabler to this.

  I recommend you watch the press conference that was live streamed. On NRL.com. We have been over cap 5 out of last 6 years. $3mm over in recent years. We are $570k over in 2016. This is a multi-carriage train wreck - but the drivers of the eels train are saying "what train wreck?"
  Let's look at what can be done from here 1) get Watmaugh to retire ASAP and get the medical docs to the NRL. Backup is to release Junior now before we play Souths
  2) we can afford 3 losses for the rest of the season and still make it (we keep for and against strangely) 3) hopefully this becomes the day when the "last remnants of the Republic (incompetent cheating management) have been swept away" and we get some decent folks with integrity in to run the club. No more ex footballers please.

    Releasing Jnr won't help as Canberra would be mad to pay his contract for us. Plus they wouldn't have much room left for a big name player.

  The NRL have been investigating for months and preparing for today. Surely they could have included more specific details in their press release?? I would assume that their penalties are well justified by what they have found. So give us the fans the details so we can just deal with it rather than wondering if we have been hard done by.
