Depth in the hooker position.

In recent years we have struggled in this department, was only 2018 when we had our first 3 choice hookers go down,

king. Prichard. Degoise,

We have fond it hard to compete with 3 hookers let alone 2 expecialy if Prichard gets injured ( big chance ) we have Mahoney and that’s it. Smith can fill in but is not a 9 Snieder 2 seasons off being Nrl standard.  We are really short this year in that position,  26 rounds of Nrl this is simply not enough, it is the first position we need to look at other than being short in centres. Isaac luke is a must Imo.

  • Luke and mahoney would be an awesome combination for me. To pay luke $350k a year for 2 yrs is a bargain imo

    • They need to Make it happen

  • But they should of done it at the end of last season give him a pre season especially with this mentor role of his there talking about plus hes injured and not available till rd 4 anyway on paper good signing in the preseason now its a bit desperate

    • We should be desperate for a no 9.  as we are very skinny in that position.

      • Exactly and he was off contract so why didn't we sign him straight away?

Not 3 weeks out from the season starting and without a preseason if its a 2 year deal thats effectively 1 pre season to work extensively with our two young hookers.

I'm a fan of the signing in principle but it has to be benefit the two young players who hopefully are here long-term

          • Poppa get off the sauce and look at things clearly.

I posted several times the need to sign Luke but in February makes no sense. We will be a better team with him in it for sure thats why we should of gone for him when he was available and got full benefit from his signature even in the rehab group he could of provided something from what im told furgo has done just that this year

  • To start with they had Mahoney on a Development contract. According to media reports they had put an offer on the table for Segyaro which he rejected. There was also media speculation that they were talking to Api.

How much of this is true I don’t know but I suspect most of it. Bearing in mind that Mahoney and Schneider are seen as the long term future of the club  they were only ever  looking for older experienced Hookers to add to the list.

If they manage to snare Luke it will be mission accomplished.

  • Warriors may up their offer to Luke

they only have inexperienced hookers as well

  • Peter Peters, Shuv another pie in that gob of yours, Can’t stop you from thinking but will help you not talk so much.

  • Maybe there is still some shuffling to be done i expect the following to happen.

Seggy re-signs with sharks i heard its a possibility

One of the Brailey boys released to warriors

    Luke to eels.

Nobody has sern this many hookers passed around since mad monday 97
