Degois

I don't want to put a damper on what was a tough fought team win, but I hate Degois on the bench, for a couple of reasons. Now heat me out... I like Degois as a player. Extremely tough. But why have a backup hooker on the bench when BA continues to pick Paulo who is a "utility" .. I like Degois much more then I like Paulo, but I think we have all come to terms with the fact that BA loves him and he will not drop him, therefore Degois needs to go. We would be a much better team with 1 or 2 more big boppers **Tepai and/or Pauli** on the bench. Especially in a game like today where we lost our biggest reserve plus Wicks and Gower struggled with injuries throughout the game. It's sad to think that Degois and Paulo are keeping Pauli and Tepai out of first grade. We need to add size to our bench. Playing 2 utility type players is just dumb. Not to mention we are a much better team when Peats is playing hooker. He is more then capable of playing 80 minutes a game at hooker. He is wasted playing in the backrow and we lack creativity coming out if the ruck when he is off.

  • I couldn't agree more can't wait to see Pauli back in first grade
  • If you think Gower was struggling all match you need to visit OPSM

    • Ahhh, when I say struggling im referring to the fact that he had to leave the field due to injury. It's beside the point. This has nothing to do with Gower. We need more size on the bench.
  • He is solid but offered nothing today and whilst not a bad player doesn't meet what we need from a bench player. Doubt he'll be seen next week
    • Oh he'll be seen next week. You can bet your bottom dollar. Unfortunately.
  • You're starting to sound a bit confused there ParraLad

    • I think your the one that is confused there champ.
  • Imo Degois is a very good player, and Joe Paulo is not.

  • Exactly. IDG is probably the best backup Hooker in the game, but we need either him or Peats playing the full 80 minutes. They're both 80 minute players and having them both on could throw things off, if they're switching around etc.

It's not so much that we need to get rid of IDG or Seffa, rather than the fact that we need some big men on the bench who can run it hard up the middle and hold onto the ball. For example, if we had Pauli Pauli, Tepai (if he's well) and Darcy on the bench instead. If either Seffa or IDG were to go, I would say Seffa as he doesn't run hard or straight, but like you say.... he's never going to be dropped!!!

    • Yeah that's exactly my point. Degois is first grade material just doesn't fit in with Peatsy.
