Bulldog's bite: Docking Parra ten points would ruin the season - NRL, don't do itBy Dean Ritchie4 April 2016There appears little doubt Parramatta will be punished for salary cap issues, as they should be. Rugby league though needs a strong Parramatta in Sydney's west.Let's strip the resurgent Eels of four competition points. At least that keeps them in the premiership race. Ten points would end their season, drive fans away and cripple TV ratings. The NRL has a raft of options to hurt Parramatta. Sack the board, sack the officials who knew, place stringent conditions on the club, strip them of four points along with a $1 million fine.Parramatta's offences certainly don't equal those massive breaches committed by Canterbury and Melbourne during the 2000s. The NRL has to come down heavy. We all agree. But deducting ten points would only hurt the innocent - the players and long-suffering fans.http://www.sportingnews.com/league-news/4700864-bulldogs-bite

  • Bulldog's mate Nick Tabakoff will be p1ssed off with this piece. Nick wants the Eels banned and Steve Sharp and crew subject to a public flogging.
    • Nick Tabakoff needs a flogging around the face and head.
  • If they take ten points of us I will never watch a NRL match a  again

just give us a fine why should the players been hurt they go out there week after week and play there hearts out and you wont to kick them for that

  • We should start a petition and force NRL to do nothing but a fine.

    • Yeah let's March on NRL headquarters.
Bring the pitch forks I'll bring the torches.
  • Considering the absolute and utter incompetence shown by our board and management, 4 points and a fine as a penalty is one the mark.

The saving grace that we have is that we didn't 'cheat' well in that if founded, we still didn't make finals when in breach oft he cap rules at a high level.

The telling factor is and will always be how much of a statement the new NRL 'boss' wants to make.

4 points as a deduction is fair and we can still compete and shake the crap out oft his comp

  • First time ive agreed with Wallaby arms Richie in a while.

If i had to make a guess i think we will be docked the original penalty of 4 points, maybe 6, and a big fine, i also think T-Rex Richie has mail that 4 points will be the punishment and he's getting in early so he can later say, look, the NRL took my recommendations lol, i saved the eels from losing 10 hahaha

  • Yet somehow after all this our board will stay in place till the next election where more mud will get slung continuing the circus that is parramatta.
Sometimes i wish i was 10yrs old again and i could start supporting someone else.
  • fek the torches we're not marching at night are we?

Bring the beer, its thirsty work marching and when people are upset and get pissed, things get interesting.....

    • Ok I'll bring the Reschs and you can bring back the biff then.
