Danny Wicks signing

Rugby League Week

PARRAMATTA is set to sign former Dragons and Knights prop Danny Wicks.

Wicks is set to make a return to the NRL after serving an 18-month ban for drug trafficking with the Eels in 2015.

The talented prop is still only 28 and is fitter than in his time at the Knights and Dragons after spending long hours working out while in jail.

The tough prop was released from prison last March but isn’t eligible to return to the NRL until next season.

The Eels are set to beat several rival clubs to gain his signature.

  • Is there a link to the source?

  • wow. well there you go huh. was a lot of word Wicks would return to the Dragons. clearly this is another death-knell in Fui's wonderful career at Parra. I also wonder if it backs up the recent whispers about Mossop wanting to return to England...??

    • I've heard for a few weeks now that Mossop is extremely homesick contrary to what he has said in recent interviews.... He will be released at years end on compassionate grounds
  • I am saving my eye rolling for when Snake comes out and says that "he mentioned this in the cupboard months ago" or that his "sources have told him its a done deal" or "fans on a rival forum are happy that he is not playing for their club." ......lol..........

  • Outstanding. This guy can play.

  • Good signing. He's 28 but has only played 69 NRL games and has many good years ahead, and like Manu Mau, Wicks would have the incentive to prove himself to a club that gives him a second chance.
  • Wow, ok then. Danny and Manu, will scare the crap out of the other packs.

  • I broke it first miatch. Ask ron.
  • Good signing in my opinion.  He most certainly would be coming cheap and we know he can play.  For a prop, 28 is still relatively young - he'll have at least 3 years left in him - maybe more considering he's spent the last two years not playing.

    • He's as fit as phuck.

When he was a fat bugger he could do a somersault on the spot and was still very quick.

I saw him recently and his physique typifies the modern forward.

      He's a machine.

      GO DANNY BOOOOOY!
