I have read recent blogs on our forward pack, how good it is, and some of this is due to the addition of Danny Wicks. Please unicorn riders give me a break! I remember Wicks as being an average over-weight forward who could really run. I don't remember him as being a hard aggressive forward intimidating other forwards, if so maybe he would have some representative honours - he has NONE!
Lets really look as our pack - in summary a small pack, one & a half representative forwards (Watmough & Mannah), some good promising young players (Moreora, Junior & maybe Pauli), some good older but inexperienced forwards (Edwards-injured maybe for full year & Ma'u), a potential representative hooker & good backup and the balance some journeymen. Really a good pack? Middle of the road for me so unless BA has got them to tackle and given them some aggression pills how good will they be?
PS Gee I'm on a downer, my unicorn mare died suddenly and have no unicorn milk left!

Maybe because when he played at Newcastle he was overweight whereas now he super fit and hungry. It's his only shot at making it again in the NRL.
i think Ma'u and choc would be like hunting dogs in the 2nd row. oops wrong thread
But i am a fan of wicks. He will be hitting those holes like an outside back with speed and power
Don't forget Tepai, he's brutal on both sides of the ball.
Noone is saying he will set the world on fire, but he will do well
mediocre yes. pussy no.
I agree regarding our forward pack Glenn.
I believe it may just be the best we have had for some years with the most depth but until we get a third of the way through the season it's hard to tell.
As for Wicks. He is the fittest forward at the club and the fittest he has ever been. He is hungry, done the hard yards and is very, very motivated.
All we can do is back him and see how he goes.
