  Absolutely. Just taking the defensive workload off him will help. Add less responsibility with OX in 7 and I am expecting great things from Morts in 2011.

  ist year he had the following qualities
  Great support play
  Good instinctive plays - kicks and regathers - taking on the line
  Solid defence
  High energy
  
  This year
  No long kicking game
  not enough experience to direct a team around the park from half
  not enough confidence to put on those instinctive plays - the poor form of the team contributed to this
  
  I am prepared to see how he goes with a quality half inside him next year

  Look at scott prince at the cowboys, broncos was ok not the best halfback but look at him now best halfback in the game.

  Well fine not second year syndrome but in 2008 was shit. 2009 he fires. Billy slater even had been dropped to the bears in his days. Hayne morts and the ox will fire.

  Can he take a paycut, like fuck honestly wouldnt u feel guilty getting paid 250k for playing shithouse while people are playing twice as good and putting in more effort and getting paid less. How does he sleep at night

  Vegemite kid i am pretty sure DM's $250K starts this year and if thats the case those that continue to bag the crap out of him for paying overs need to reserve those comments for his season in 2011 and 2012.
  
  Don't get me wrong he was poor in 2010 but so was everything about our team, one of those years. If DM was getting paid under $100K under his old contract which i think was the case then we can't keep thrashing the fact he was on $250K if he wasn't.
  
  I think he will work his butt off in the offseason and come back a good player in 2011. I could be wrong but i think he will come good. The coach needs to protect him from making so many bloody tackles and i think Kearney will do that and also provide him with the structure and confidence to get the team cracking.
  
  If it were me i would give him a similar game plan to what Finch provided for the Storm next to Cronk which was a solid game and we pick up the 7 that we need to run the show.
  
  I am still a fan of Hayne at 6 if we don't land JT or Orford and would consider Murray at 7, guy can play. Needs experience but................
