Daniel Mortimer

Was mentioned as a rumour on Triple M this morning that with Anderson now gone so to soon will be Daniel Mortimer, cancelling the last 2 years of his contract!  Though this sounds unlikely, what do those with more information and insight into the club think?

    • i agree he isnt worth 250k , but come on, you lose all credibility when you say he is worth only 55k
  • Have to say that the rumour seems unlikely, but we have seen stranger things happen.
There's no doubt that Morts had an indifferent 2010, but if he's given the chance to recuperate, bulk up a bit, and work on some of his skills, then he'll become a better player.
  • well thats a bit better lol
  • Can somebody clarify something very interesting to me and then i will provide further comments.

When Mortimer signed his new contract of $250K per season for 2 years which starts in 2011 does that mean in the 2010 season he was on what..............????? $80K or something?

I need this confirmed before i say what i am going to say.
    • im pretty sure that is correct! definitely his 250k contract is for the next 2 years starting in 2011

this year he was on his old contract, whatever that was worth
    • he would of been on a sign on plus match payments and maybe even bonuses
  • Kearney in as coach, brings Cronk with him and Mortimer goes to the Storm..... I could live with that!
  • Wishful thinking EelLectric? :P
    Hehe.
Wouldn't mind seeing that happen, that's for sure.
You never know what might happen.
  • Nope he should be given another chance. He's a very talented player just needs to be played in the right position and guided by a proper coach.
  • Ok but don't players get bonuses for making the gf? And How many 1st grade games they play?
