"Difference is that Talagi played centre the full SG ball season that eels won the comp in 2023. He even played centre in JF that year. He didn't play in the halves at all that year. Risati has only played 6 for us"

Alvaro could very well fight it out with Evans for starting role next year as they won't be used to bust game open or add impact but lay platform by running hard and tiring their defence while hitting hard in defence and slowing opposition attack as you mentioned. Alvaro better wrestler but Evans offers big hits in defence which is just as effective and helps team morale more then holding someone down.
Peni is the dark horse as our best prop next year though if he improves on early season form once back from injury. His still young and his handling has improved which showed in his willingness hit line even harder without fear of dropping the ball..
If Meehan delivers on potential with moreoa a year older, brown continuing play as he has this year and mau being mau our forward pack will be 1 to be feared in years to come.
Tries hard , but not 1st grade material
Once he gets a full season under his belt he will be a better player.
Bup, not sure about using the word Brilliant, but certainly as he gets more game time, experience with age he's going to get better, he has improved a lot and that comes from week in/out selection and playing in the top side.
ATM, he is not the lead front rower to take the first ball up like Mannah has been for ages, but he should be the second one up following the main props runs.
The way Tim is coming down with the HIA's he does need to get some checks done, in the same way as IDG and he also needs to asses his future, I am also sure he has still got an issue with the shoulder he did in last year, and that's why he's not having the same impact.
Would certainly love to see another strong aggressive run on prop though, not sure that Evans is that player but he has the prospects though. Building well for 2018 as well.
Alvaro definitely has a good motor and is not in the team to bend the line but as a workhorse.
He just seemed a little slow to me in the ruck and slow to get up and back in the line. Not sure if deliberate or just because he was barely hanging on in the tackle or beaten in the wrestle. So enjoying reading the discussion
