What about former Storm hard knuckle Darren Shonig? Playing for Toowoomba in Q Cup, played Storm first grade last year and was a beast, looked like a bloody Viking
That's a great call. However I wonder why he's out of favour at the Storm? They're massively down on troops and he can't get a start? Must be a reason.
I guess the medical guys have marked the gap between playing QRL and NRL as too big a jump for his injury ? Dunno, but I do like the idea of having some hard bloke with fuck all to lose on our books. I honestly don't think a single player in the NRL would be intimidated by our big men. Paulo was virtually desexed by the judiciary when he kept getting charged and suspended for doing fuck all, and I could picture RCG in arseless leather chaps hanging out at the Blue Oyster Bar. I like him, great player , but he just has no intimidating part to his game.
He is to this day still one of, if not the best, winger i have seen in our game. The way he was able to dominate, once in open space you would not get him. He also had untapped potential with ball skills, he was deceptively smart as a football player.
But honestly would you want him back at this stage? He has been out for going on 5 years now. Plus is 31 this year, could get a couple of years out of him but he would not be the player he once was, especially coming back to a game the speed of League.
Plus he will earn more in Union until he retires anyway. Good on Semi, as long as he doesn't come back to another NRL team, i wish him luck and glad he has made a wonderul living in Union.
x 2 LB .. surely there's another powerful 400 meter sprint champion back there in Fiji that parra may unearth again, then again hang on the unwanted Americans are coming .
Fiji is so untapped it is incredible. Only issue is a lot of them come over in early to mid 20's and are still learning the game, Radradra and Sivo are the exception in who works out.
If i was a talent scout i would head over to Fiji and look for 16 to 18 year old Fijian wingers and bring them over to learn the game for a few years then replace Sivo.
"billionaire = predatory billionaire....same same...all of them.
The injustice is not the system, it is the billionaire leveraging it....and when you put them in charge of the system they tilt it further their way and it becomes the system. PT has…"
A mate of mine took an old shield for an aged effect, painted this and gifted it to me today. A great memory from a great time in Eels history. Thought I would share.

The haircut
He has a bad knee. I know the Titans were looking at him at one stage. Guy certainly had potential. He's like 29 or something too.
Oh well there goes that option, mustn't be too bad he running around last week I think.

One thing Fiji produces are athletic freaks.
