Always thought of him as the Stuart Mcgill of Rugby League. Not really one of the lads, a bit too intellectual and a bit of an odd ball. However fair play to him 300 games and although a lot of outrage for the back flip on the Gold Coast and 1M over 10 years and his lack of bonding with the Qld team early, has really become one of the great number 7s of the modern era. I guess he should of won a few more comps.....but good on him.
anyway just my thoughts.....I know this is a Parra site but hey ...lol

You make some valid points. But f-ck DCE and all his shithead mates at that club.
I've never held Ill feelings towards DCE, great player, no issues with the law, only off field controversies have been related to arguments with team mates who in themselves didn't have the best reputation for being easy to work with (Hastings, mason etc.) congrats to him
My partner can't stand him. Thinks he is a back-flipping dog, and that deal was from 2015! She never lets shit go. Always calls him that beady eyed long necked See You Next Tuesday when she sees him.
Can't say I'm a fan, but hey, he's achieved quite a lot.
In my opinion he is and has been one of the most under rated players in the game.
How many times has he stolen a victory out of the jaws of defeat. An absolute master of pulling off the clutch play.
His interviews stand out, he rarely uses all the BS cliches most other players use.
well spoken and articulate character, and stands out in interviews. Other players sound like a broken record with the obviouslys, days in day out lines, still need to improve our game, at end of the day its just a footy game , cliches.
I respect dce
He is still one of the best players in the game.
Another classic example of a half who has gotten better as he got older. He won a comp early and probably should have had more success at club level but it shows how hard premierships are to win.
Shame Smith, JT and Slater didn't like him otherwise would have had more success at rep level too.
Slater loves him now... LOL
