Daine Laurie seeking release to eels

I mentioned last week about Daine Laurie.

hearing his management seeking a release from final tigers contract to join eels in the next month.

is he the answer to our woes, no. But he is a livewire ball runner and can find the try line

  • Forget his tigers days, nobody has performed well under their structure, nor playing with Brooks.

    check his days at Panthers

  • For the right price, he'd be a very decent backup fullback

    • Spot on. As with any player, it's for the right price

      • Right price lol, like he's going to join us for 300k. Haha. He's probably on 500plus atm Brett. .lollll

        • He is on 300k at the moment, he is considered an unproven talent.
Shown sparks of high ability, but no consistency, been in a bad system so can't be blamed entirely for that.
He will not get 300k or more on his next deal.

He is now expected to 'prove it'. Likely a minimum or 150k deal for 1 year (2024) in addition to the rest of what he is owed this year.

Very good deal for someone of his talent and experience.

        • I doubt he's on that much, and I wouldn't pay that much for him. Hence why I said "for the right price".

        • As if he's going to join us for 300k Chief lol ,  let's just say BA is offering him 1.3 million. A season to make it sound extra outrageous 😂😂

  • That's correct he will join the Eels after our clash on Monday.
Great back up Fullback, 6 or live wire to bring on after the ruck opens up.
Gutho and Daine have had some great competitive battles over the past few years, he clearly loves that intensity and will hit his ceiling with us.

Now to focus on bringing in a big bopper. Emre Guler is the name to watch there.

    • How do you know he will join the Eels next week? Has he actually been released from the Tigers? No mention of this happening in the media. Sounds like another gee up

      • It's just been heavily rumored by a few insiders who are usually correct. No mention of it in the media is usually a good sign to be honest.
