BA BENCH

Boring but Necessary.

Panthers win most of the their games by bully ball. Not the tradition bigger bully ball but with stamina.

In the second half after about 15 when most teams start to tire they bury you.

Reason being why the bench is gonna be key.

I'm confident if he gets the bench right we win.

Unlike Penrith, we can't afford to have a back up half off the bench or even a forward he doesn't plan to use in his rotation.

This is no knock on JA.

I would say the same if his initials were JC. We need to make sure that we utilise the bench as much as we need with regards to fatigue.

Payton made a big mistake bringing on Fidow with only 7 to go. By the time he got involved the game was over.

Many things went our way in the last 20 that are unlikely to go out way v the panthers.

I think we can win and actually win confidently if we get that bench spot on.

  • 100% Spot on josh

  • Agree

  • I think Nathan Brown will be suited off the bench. He has origin experience. He can get us in the front. That's the other thing I'm slightly worried about is big game experience. I think it be calming for the others knowing Brown is on the bench and will show no fear.

    • No likes a show off but called it.

  • Absolutely right.

BA can't go into the game not expecting to use the entire bench. He can't carry people in the GF. It's unfair on the rest of the team.

I actually think it is unfair on JA to be thrown into the grand final too. We need someone with big game experience who can make a difference. JA hasn't been able to have any impact off the bench. In fact, his form has not been great when he has played. Not an attack on the kid, I have always supported him. If he does play, I hope he scores the match winning try but I'd be picking someone the Panthers may fear..

    • Fair call.  If you agree with a 2 man rotation bench then and could possibly be right but just wondering the logic with regards to that. We were very fortunate against the cows. Many things went our way. We can beat the panthers but I think it's ok to say the bench needs to be utilized more against the panthers. I guarantee it will be discussed on nrl 360 and every other show. Go Parra.

  • Preserve our stamina to last the full 80 is spot on Josh.Penrith are super fit physically and mentally.

  • The bench is important no doubt at all, but the key to winning is Our forwards laying the platform and most important when they do Dylan Brown and Mitch Moses must play footy off the back of that. If either three go missing it becomes mission impossible.

Catching the high ball will also nullify one of Penriths strengths and tactics to put points on us.

  • I'm a bit worried about how the players will pull up this week after that game in Townsville tbh.

The bench maybe more crucial than ever. Lets see what BA goes with - IMO it won't be different, with the exception of Opa for Simmons on.

    • Although, we backed up the Darwin game by smacking the Panthers the following week - so what the fuck do I know? 😃😃
