Current Deficiencies in the team?

Early Attack:

Our attack to start games is non existent. We got no ball player in the middle to start the game since Walker is on the bench and Hopgood ability in that department is gone backwards. We refuse to build pressure as well. We just go for the all of nothing play which doesn't come off. To start the game we gave away three 20m restarts. Moses needed to demand the ball and step up there. Really really poor. Hopefully JDB starting at lock next year helps with the link play. Need to work on attack structure anyway.

Effort:

First game in a long time I questioned some of the desire in the players. Iongi watching Duncan go all out for the ball on the floor was poor. Someone who has put effort on effort all year. I hope and believe that the effort issue is a one of game in our rebuilding year. Just got complacent and expected the win.

Support play:

How many linebreaks with no support play. Big area for Iongi to improve. Really wish Iongi had a bit better top speed. His footwork and acceleration is good. But he lacks the top speed to be a support player in time.

Tuilagi:

He runs great lines and has a great offload. But go watch how much Souths exposed Tuilagi efforts and lateral movement. He could not keep up with Souths shifting the ball that eels had to keep back pedalling to conceed meters. Moses could not slide as Tuilagi would take forever to get to his man. Williams and Kautoga have to be our edges next year. Just use Guymer as the back up option as he is defensively more sound than Tuilagi even if his attack isnt much.

Doorey:

He is a clear depth option. Defensively he struggles. He only has minimal good games in him. He had a couple good games in him earlier but recently he has lost his form again. Cannot be in the best 17.

Attacking Kicks:

Our attacking kicks are shit. Lomax ability in the air has disappeared. Can't catch anything anymore. Moses accuracy for those kicks were horrible as well. He needs to land in on the goal line not 5m inside the field.

Papalii:

He has no idea what he is doing as a 6. I do not think a pre-season there will change it much. His instincts are so much like a fullback. He doesnt see the game as a 6. He needs to be the back up fullback next year and thats it. Him at 6 essentially eliminates our left side attack. Fox got thrown so many hospital passes.

Red ball attack:

Papalii contributes to this issue as he is not a 6. He does not straighten the attack up at all on shape. On shape he runs like he is sweeping out the back like a fullback even though he is playing 6.

Moses does not touch the ball enough in attack. He needs to control the team. But right now we look clueless and looking for Walker to call the shots. Moses is the halfback. He needs to set our attack up better. He organises a one out settler every second tackle which is putrid. Get players going running under lines cutting back in or some short passes going with your backrowers running at the halves to generate quick play the balls instead of these boring settles. We were dominating them in the ruck but we tried going around them with diaboloical shifts. How did Moses to step up at the start of the game and allow those 20m restarts pissed me off.

              • May i ask what lack of objectivity you are referring to?

                • LB

Watched it late on replay as I was out. To say it was pathetic and an embarrassment is an understatement. Outta be ashamed of themselves for that. With the squad they put out to get beaten like that is pathetic. Having our $1.3 mil Halfback be turned inside out in defence was embarrassing.

Thought the days of this Parra were gone. Brown was rubbish in defence when usually that is his strength. Though the middle the quick play the ball killed us when that's the old team, creeping back up again. Numerous times both markers are on the floor behind the play the ball.

That was disapointing to me as well, but it wasn't how you said  it was. Subjectively IMO, it showed a lack of objectivity!

                  • Right but that's subjective to you then. There was a Poppa's corner, which has since been deleted, after the Canberra loss in Darwin where you unloaded on Ryles. I remember it as i felt this was different to how you usually are. Isn't that a sense of lack of objecitvity?

Or once when you knocked Seraph about the Blair Mills rumour when Coryn was one who said he heard similar and started the conversation off as him saying it was a shambles? No mention of Coryn getting it wrong in your opinion, just Seraph. That would fit in lack of objectivity as well. Allow personal feelings and bias influence you judgement rather than basing it on facts.

                    • "There was a Poppa's corner, which has since been deleted"...LOL, Boom...I am glad you pointed this out LB...otherwise his history-revision hypocrisy goes thru to the keeper and the slippery old prick gets to ponce about pontificating about how he has always said what he's always said and that we don't understand that we don't undeblahblahblah...and don't bother holding out a mirror to him, he has no shame and will jizz on it while telling you that if you want to hock it you have to clean it first.

                    • LB

Actually I deleted that blog LB because I felt it was wrong in the context of thinking more about it. Objectivity is owned by anyone that makes commentary and whilst I am happy to take your critique, I actully expect it, because I respect you.

Don't be upset for lacking anything, it is something we all have at different times and I do not think for one minute, that I am exception to the same criticism.

Where lack of objectivity exists as a problem is some one that posted after you. Handlicker thinks it is some sort of coup to have a blog deleted until he finds out I was the one that deleted it. LOL Boom he said.

Do you really want someone on here who is more driven by personalties than anything about our football team.

That is my focus, and I do not sweat on the Handlicker's observations because I have no respect for him or his glibness.

He makes reference to "hocking "  and me having no shame, I wonder what he was implying? certainly was not objectiveness.

                    • When you have your spizzy "brand" blog (Lb referred to "poopas corner"), that gets featured regularly, deleting the whole thing is unacceptable, unless done shortly after publishing, like instant regret. Regret weeks/months later just means you have decided you were wromg previously. Bad Luck, too late. You could write a long-winded blog about how wrong you were, but then you'd sniff the wind and delete that too. These type of deletions destroy the credibility of the deleter. Sneaky history revision. Pussy. Stand beside what you said if you cant get behind it anymore

I knew you deleted it knobhead, when did i ...ffs. I have never tried to get anyone or anything deleted, unlike your whiny backchannelly self.

Your respect is not required by me...I have literally no use for it....Eat a dick

                    • I was asked to do the Poppa's Corner blogs.

In relation to my deleting it has nothing to do you. My guess is I deleted about a week after I wrote it. So what!

Interestingly enough I have only ever deleted my blogs/posts and have never requested any deletions of anyone elses. Super would confirm that.

Finally you sanctimonious prick what has any of this got to do with you. LB and me were having a repectable conversation.

                    • I have changed a bit over the last few years to not be so reactionary. I found I fell into that recently and tried to stop it again as it can make you look more of a fool

What you did in delete blog is similar to me, I look at it, reflect and think "nah, not what should be up there".

                    • I’ll put my hand up: I’ve asked Pops to keep his Corner going regularly. We need consistent content creators, even if not every post pleases everyone or avoids the occasional bashing. I hope he keeps at it regardless.

Earlier in the season, many of us had doubts about Ryles. Poppa’s concerns after the Raiders hiding reflected what a lot of us were thinking. I was worried too. But Poppa like many of us, realize that Ryles and the club need time before we make any impulsive final judgments. I'm guessing that was why he deleted it soon after.

Writing can be cathartic. I’d also love to see the likes of Snottie, NOS, Bluey, Daz, or Bup add more regular footy blogs and content. And I hope LB, Chiefy, and EA continue as well. They’re all important contributors. Whoever has the desire to post blogs and their ideas, please do. The more voices, the better.

One unfortunate thing about social media is we like to bash and put down. It's a human thing. Commonplace. More than farts. And common isn't always the best way to be. Drama, disagreement and some bash and barge is inevitable, and I've done it too. But often it goes overboard and it's not a really useful habit unless our life goal is to develop personality disorders.

                    • Hi Hoey, you read me pretty right and that blog was a good example of what you said and LB, a good response by you.

Unfortunately we sometimes play the "man" rather than the ball. Frank the Tank pointed that out to me once and it resonated.

Of course there a some posters that you love to go after for different reasons, I actually respect Wiz's football nounce but he too often plays the man rather than the ball.....but we take the piss and move on.

Randy is just here for the social intercourse.

I got pissed off on saturday night as I rarely post during a match, maybe at half time, but it does seem that many on here are entertained in the process, but gee a lot of them reading back afterwards, have every right to be embarrassed.

I think LB made the point in a post, one loss and we turned on our team like a pack of rabid dogs.
