Culture in league -myth

let me start by saying the most overused word in league these days is about good culture is needed. It is not and it's a myth . all you need is people that can identify good talent , keep the books good, someone that can coach and talented side .

i think this latest GI debacle should put it to rest , Souths have had probably same amount of issues as us this year and throw in previous issues with Avuva , the two kids on prescription drugs and you can see they have a "culture" problem. Yet they went far this year and the year they won the GF they had the other issues.

NSW this year said they would have a no d**head policy but they would gave picked Fifita if he did choose Tonga. At the first instance iof him mentioning it the should have told him to f*k off but they didn't.

for Parra to succeed we just need talent in staff and players , the NRL to be soft on us like they are with their chosen clubs and cheat the cap ... I'll say this the years we were found cheating the cap , the broncs, storm and roosters were spending more than use with their "legitimate" TPAs and the sharks were confidently apparently cap compliant the year they won the Comp but apparently over the years either side of it.

  • I can't understand why people want footy players to be perfect little angels when they are not. There is too much scrutiny, they are young well payed and idolised by most people that know who they are.look at the people who run the country, not really setting a great example. The club needs to hire players to win games not to win the nobel prize. We need a winning successful culture and players , sponsors, media , everyone will want to be involved with us.
    • Why not. I follow international soccer teams. They get paid heaps more than these guys. How many times you hear about them. Why the NRL players are excused?
  • The culture that’s important is the professionalism around improving your skills as a player and taking yourself seriously as an athlete. Focus on those and you’ve got the no d^*^#head policy sorted.

People will still make mistakes, that’s just life.

    • If your team just aint as good that's one thing but this year the group just lacked mental toughness and pride in themselves and the jumper.that needs to be addressed now.
  • In the immortal words of Sir Les Patterson, "we've got more culture than a penicillin factory."

  • I'm sure the eels marketing department would not agree with this blog
