Culture

Gee the culture in the club absolutely stinks, in all grades.

How pathetic was that tonight???  They only thought they had to play for 10mins to win, it was so much like first grades last two games it wasn't funny.

The Warriors were there to be beaten, and we just let them go 100m twice to win the game. SG ball were also minor premiers and choked big time.    People will probably say i'm whinging again and being negative as usual.  But these kids are the ones who are meant to be the future but it looks like more of the same.

  • Missed it Al. Out with the kids and missus but nothing surprises me anymore about this club.
The only way the winning culture can be reinstituted is if the firsts grade side start to win again.
From there winning can be contagious and should begin to rub off on all lower grades.
  • Yeah, the culture of getting into Semi-Finals. Boy that must suck. The Warriors had big game experience and we didn't. That's the first semi-final our club has played in the NYC, the Warriors have never not made the 8 in the NYC. Last year the Warriors pumped the Dogs in the same game, the fact that we were in it despite only completing 7/17 sets in the first half was amazing. Big game experience beat our boys tonight. The Warriors were the better team from the get go.

    • Mate they choked, big time.  I know blokes like you and 40/20(great work by him all year by the way) go to every junior game and see more than us.  But they were the favourites, beat the Warriors twice this year and they just didn't turn up at all that first half.  Then they had the game shot to bits instead of grinding it our they tried to get fancy and score a try on the 2nd tackle.

Just listing to Gus on nine, what a job he has done at Penrith.  The culture of that place in all grades in unbelievable.  So jealous at what he has done for them.  Instead we have a failed coach, unliked by most managers with a poor record of recruitment and only given the job for political reasons.  Sharpy was parachuted into the job for a reason.

    • They come from 19-6 to lead 26-19 with what 5 to go or something? I think we ahould be proud of the boys
    • 7/17 and you are saying this was not a dismal performance Ham?

That would be a disgusting stat for an under 6 team on their first outing.

The fact you are happy to build up the team and accept this, is proof positive Parra fans are all in favour of the crap we are handed week in, week out.

CRIKEY, even the Unicorn in me is seething when I read this.

      Excuse after excuse after BS.

    • Think there is a massive over reaction. This isn't first grade and can't be measured as such. Yes completion was terrible but from my perspective a number of the errors came from the same players time and again. The nature of NYC that there are on average 4 players to progress to NRL from any team. With a small salary cap there is a big discrepancy from the best players to the worst in any team. The old adage you are only as strong as your weakest link. Throw in Pritchard (injured), Moeroa (injured) and Pauli (ineligible) and I'm confident we would have won. We already have 4 players from the squad progress to first grade even though we are losing Kelepi. The squad had essentially served its purpose (producing first graders) and at the same time achieved our best ever result in this competition. No doubt we may never hear from a number of these players ever again in football circles but again it is the nature of NYC and a small salary cap. Throw in the success of the warriors where they can retain players on less money than sydney club due to them having a fairly captured and large market. Well done boys on a great season. Shame to play far from their best in such a crucial game and fall so close to the gf.
  • Of course it was ridiculous. But they're 20 year olds, you wouldn't be able to count on both hands how many times that sort of result happens throughout the year to all clubs.

  • This culture crap is a farce, the team with the best roster wins. The Bunnys,Roosters and dogs have the best squad of players and  it's no surprise they are in  the last four teams standing. The panthers success is based on good recruitment and a good coach and all the talk of culture is just a wankfest.

    • Just like we had a better roster than Canberra in the last game with our season on the line???  Losing twice to Newcastle when they had nothing to play for????

Tonight our Roster was far better then theirs why didn't we win then Clive???

    • By pointing to the Canberra game Al are you insinuating that a Ricky Stuart coached Canberra who came second last has a better ''culture'' than us? Please, we got beat coz we had a young team that was relying too much on Hayne and we played shit. People believe Wayne Bennett is the benchmark when it comes to this ridiculous culture crap but what did he achieve at the Knights? Shit roster shit result, good roster good result. Footy is a simple game made complicated by wanky coaches and media types trying to make themselves relevant and they are the ones that drive this culture bandwagon.
