Eels History, Stats & Trivia Blog

This blog is for all 1Eyed Eel members to comment and debate our history, statistics and trivia .. as well as ask questions they want to know the answer to.

The Eels entered the competition in 1947, firstly being called the fruitpickers until being officially named the Parramatta Eels. Dux Water heaters were the first sponsors of the Eels.

Pricey and Crow are without doubt the Eels greatest ever players and are now 1EE immortalised below.

This blog was an idea with Crow about club history; and at the suggestion of others it has undergone a Block like makeover and is now the official 1EE Parramatta History & Stats blog.

We declared our knowledge of the club's history a draw, though Crow is a historical legend .. but not sure where we stand with Slip or Slippery for that matter, they are like Encyclopedia Parramatta!

    • I'm going head to head with Crow on this one. What colours do you refer to?

  • yes but what where our origional colours before we entered, i know them, they are the same as a syd rugby club, you guys have got nothin

  • that is correct info crow, spot on

  • no you where right the first time crow, ive read it before, but what where our colours before we went to blue n gold? im still waiting

  • not the two blues

  • we where forest green n white before blue n gold 100% fact

    • Snake I think you will find that the original Cumberland team of 1908 were players from wests rugby team. Hence why they were so terrible. They did however wear blue and gold of Cumberland.
      • MORAY FYI, before 1947 we were known as the, western district presidents cup team, which had the emerald green n white colours, shared with the western syd rugby club, both wore green n white, but in 1947 we decided to change our colours for entry to the comp, we where infact very close to being white n green instead of blue n gold

        • Interesting snake. But did you know that in 1928 we wore pink and purple and were known as the far inner wests shemales. Our mascot was a bearded lady and dwarfs rode little ponies around the ground as pregame entertainment.
