Cronulla game will be the indicator

I guess i can understand the stress everyone is under with the boys clearly underperforming. I too have been less than impressed with certain players who carry big names, we are allowed to voice our opinons, but do we really need 10 different blogs about how crap Cayless, The keatings, hindy ( i can't believe it) and Poore are.

Now whilst the boys have played very poorly in all 3 games, we played quality oppostion and in each game displayed atleast 20 mins of domination, which shows we have the strike weapons. It is just up to Ando to get the lads right which i totally have confidence in.

we don't have much depth in the forward pack which is a concern, but we have some talented halves and play makers as well as t he best backline in the comp ( even though it is hard to tell atm).

If we lose to Cronulla, that will have me concerned quite abit and this site will probably go into chaos again, so i'm here to i guess say stop the clowning around and let's DISCUSS the mighty parra eels which is what we are here to do.

BBG out.

  • I think there have been signs of what were capable of, only prob is it doesnt look structured. we seem to be relying on the razzle dazzle impromptu play. Forwards have been overpowered, they just need to fire up a bit. Its the same team as last year, confidence is a big factor. We have been in every game, albeit only starting to focus in the second halves.
  • exactely, the fact that we have been dominated in all three games and kept the scorelines respectable is an indicator of what we can produce in 15 - 20 mins of good football, it's now up to Ando to ensure that we can become a 60 - 80 minute team.

    BBG out.
  • Get on the Sharks mate, they'll start around the $4.00 mark head to head. They haven't won a match in like 15 games, they will break their duck on us again.
  • Mate I will be concerned also. Sharks have a short turnaround, but then again I think the Tigers did also. Surely this will be the game that ignites the teams ability. After them with the Raiders at home then the Bunnies at ANZ hopefully we can string a few together. Optimistic I know but have to keep the faith!
  • Sharks have a 5 day turn around vs us having a 8 day turn around.

We should be fresher and ando will I've us fired up. I have no doubts!
  • Read in one of the Sunday papers that Tim Smith was a certainty to be released by Broncos this week to sign with the Sharks. They will most probably rush him into 1st grade against his old club. - Hope he doesn't give our under-performing halves a lesson!!
  • Tm Smith playing this game will certainly add for a bit more intrigue!

BBG, its true what you say about the 20mins of dominating football, something which we did not really display last year in the games that we won early on. I still think we are playing better this year, relative to the point in the season, however much improvement still required.

These types of games always tend to be a big test for how we are really going. Take last year, against sharks at shark park. We were expected to win, but I was far from confident. traditionally this may have been a game we tossed in the towel, but rather we won 30-nil. This game holds similar importance, in that a loss would really hurt us mentally.
A big win would be awesome, but i'll be happy with a 4 point win, as long as we improve in the key areas over last week!
  • Agreed. I'm incredibly nervous about this match already. As BBg says it's going to tell us a lot about this side. If they're not up for this game again, then clearly we can expect another season of inconsistent performances hopefully hang around the top eight before we start a late season charge again. *sigh*
    • i actually think we will play inconsitantly till round 9 when we have our bye, we have a fairly easy run as far as i remember, hopefully that week off will sort us out for a good confidence boosting game at brookvale in round 10
  • we just need to turn up and get more excited about playing in rounds 1-26 not the finals.

We need to be quicker out of dummyhalf and Ando maybe a little smarter in when we use Fui Fui as he is the only one bending the line....

i think the lads can score some points against the Sharks but that 13-10 scoreline still huants me from last year!!
