Cronk Is Gone And So Are We.

No surprise that Cronk has decamped to Easts---money talks all languages !  However it is a body blow to us Eels. We had the perfect opportunity to upgrade our roster, coach or player or both, to take us to the next level required to be a premiership contender. There does not seem much on the horizon talent wise so we are stuck with what we have. If it is any consolation,. Easts may find difficulty in digesting Cronk. On NRL 360 Cronk more than hinted that he will be, in effect, doing some of the coaching as well as playing.  He said that he knows things that are required to win games--clearly implying that Easts  and, hence, the current coach, Robinson don`t. Cronk  laid down the basic philosophy required for all the players at East to take on board to achieve success. He has already entered the coaching realm! This is humiliation for Robinson. How will this work out when the players realise that Cronk is the real coach and Robinson is yesterdays man? It would seem that Cronk, not at Easts as yet, will need to be captain! Pearce will not be the only player to have his nose out of joint!

I wanted Cronk at the Eels as the NRL coach. I realised that that was some bridges much too far  for our administration. That is our loss. Cronk knows more about the modern game of Rugby League than any other coach, indeed, more than all the other coaches combined. With no Cronk it is hard to see what we can achieve in the competition. Perhaps we can hope that things may go pear shape at Easts?

  • Gee take it easy mate. He’s only one player and he’s 34.
We absolutely need some props. And Semi is a big loss no doubt. But the player merry go round hasn’t started yet. Watch this space.
  • What the hell is this post, a whole of dreaming
  • Another Robert Lloyd special.
  • What a load of rubbish!

  • One minute he will struggle away from the Storm Smith led game plan, the next he the best coach we had to have. Lol Andrew Johns... yeah I haven't read he has really made a difference at any club, never any guarantees your going to become the best coach available. This post has only given me a good laugh!
  • Absolute rubbish blog, Cronk is a player first and foremost and will move into commentary after footy finishes

    • Seriously? As for thre not being much on the horizon out there, Look at M.Moses. Something always pops up & Parra have a warchest just waiting for the right opportunities to pop up. The fact is we’re probably one of the luckiest teams in the comp at the min, We have a million dollars plus waiting to be used to our ALREADY top 4 side.
  • It's one thing to be able to perform at a high level consistently. It is another skill entirely to get someone else to do it. Coaching is not easy. Look at the best coaches over the years - not many made it in first grade.

  • Stop sweating Robert. Roosters will slide and won't make the top 4. 3 doesn't fit into 2
As for the Eels we don't need Cronk.
