  • I have no doubt he would provide great input to strategy and guidance of halves

But I take your point that he probably won't go down that path
  • Personally I think Cronk will retire. Depending on how his season goes with the Storm, especially if they look like winning the comp. At 33 yrs old he deserves to retire as a one club man. He spoke about business and post footy opportunities. I'm sure Fox or Chanel 9 will offer him a lucrative job.
    • So do I ...and why wouldn't you he wants to be loved up at home
  • I was just thinking this, maybe as a halves coach. Just having him around the boys will likely do wonders. He will still have time for media commitments.
  • I noticed last night when they were promoting the new Fox League station that they were quickly highlighting all the the Fox League commentators League careers like: ( Anasta, Hodges, Gasnier, Meninga, Parker, Sterling,etc..... and they had Cooper Cronk amongst them) which indicates to me that he already has a media career lined up with Fox League when he finishes this year. I honestly can't see him playing on after this year.
  • There's little doubt that Cronk will go to fox its a no brainer when you consider the other legends they have on the show, only problem is the legends might be shown up.

The other thing that a player like Cronk could do is as suggested by Precious and what Gus has mentioned re halves training,  Cronk would be ideal in that area as genuine attempt by the NRL to improve that vital area in the game, a type of roving coach that could visit clubs including the the top line halves down to the juniors to give lessons in the role of the halves.

  • Copper already has contract with Fox that's no secret whilst still playing it's part of a TPA for him. Same as JT with Channel 9. I would like to see him keep playing and believe if he does he will be a Bulldog, Doggies have a lot of TPA power in getting players over line to sign.

  • Interesting you say that as I think he would be a good NRL player and assistant NRL coach at the same time.  In an ad-hoc way now he is an Assistant Coach to Bellamy and has been for some years.

If I was on the WestTigers board I will sign him for 2 years as a player and 2 years as an Assistant Coach.  This may also be a legal way around the salary cap and it would enable the club to play him another 200-250K on top of his playing salary.
