AFL, NRL ramp up preparations for coronavirus threat

Because of the outbreak in Maquarie park which is close to the stadium, by the time thurs comes around it could actually be cancelled.

I dont think its likely atm but could happen.

Would they play the game without the crowd? thats whats happening in Italy, closed door games they call it.

  • The real question is, do they have enough toilet paper?

    • might have to get in early and raid the toilets for some.

      • I never thought Australians could get any stupider. Port Macquarie sold out a couple of days ago. Now I got to go back to the good old days of shitting in a bag, lighting it on fire and putting it on people's door steps

        • Can I send you a few addresses ?

          • Went down the south coast for a couple of days got back last night even woolies in Merimbula had none on the shelf's.just wondering if these supermarkets are adding to the bullshit going's on with this crap by holding it back of the shelf's and just putting a little at a time out.in this day and age I wouldn't put it past them .as for the game if it's on I'll be there

            • I think that is very likely Hector because my local woollies supermarket appeared to make no effort to restack shelves nor announce when new stock coming. Good news is that Woolies have emailed registered customers to effect that the major Aussie poop paper manufacturers are making new stock 24/7 at the moment so sounds like only temporary shortage.

            • Hector  i can tell not from the ones we supply

  • The lack of toilet paper on shelves is really starting to give me the shits.

  • I no longer drive a Toyota Corona I will be coming in my Mazda. I admit to drinking the odd Corona with a piece of lemon.

  • I very much doubt that R1 will be cancelled, but judging by the number of Australian infections atm, and the rate the virus has spread overseas, by round 6 late April all games will be played in front of empty stadiums. By winter all schools will be closed and everyone will be in major lock down as China is.

The numbers in the rate of infection is far higher than the normal flu, and the death rate is 10 to 20 times higher.

The government could have shut this down in lat Jan. They knew the numbers but didn't want to force airlines & tourism  into economic distress.
