Wouldn't it be a great read, if the NRL's supposed fairytale book is just having the final touches scripted for the latest chapter - An Eels Drought Breaker.
I don't really believe in this conspiracy theory type stuff, however, wouldn't it be a best seller if it turns out the NRL have figured out that the Eels are the cash cow they need after bleeding so much money in 2020/21?
They have made their favourites happy with recent premierships to keep them relevant, a few of their darling players have now retired on their terms. Do they now, more than ever, need Parra success? Do they want to provide the masses of locked down Western Sydney NRL fans a feel good story.
Finals series in QLD. No more QLD teams. Parra has a stack of QLD based supporters though. So many more right around the country with no chance to attend live. Therefore, why halt a good thing they've got going on here. Massive TV audiences. Pages and pages of newspapers dedicated to the Eels, because they sell. Huge advertising revenue. If crowds are back next year, they need BankWest and ANZ sold out every time. Plus the huge TV ratings to drive every dollar out of deals with media companies and sponsors.
Have they completed the first few pages of this latest chapter already? Horrific form heading towards the finals. Written off by everyone. Club in turmoil. Coach under the pump.
Are they starting to have feelings for this coach and falling out of love with others. He has to be moving up the pecking order for some special love from NRL top dogs. Has he ever criticised them, their referees or their appalling bunker or anything else? I don't think so. For all of his faults, he never blames 'them'. He cops it on the chin and moves on. Are they thinking he deserves a reward for not promoting their "...incompetence..." like his rivals do regularly?
Some controversial decisions in yesterday's game went our way. Never happens. Some common sense and leniency from MRC & Judiciary. WTF? Never happens for Eels players. What is going on here?
It's nice to dream. Here's to the NRL for keeping the dream alive!!!

Yes it is a nice dream, but I don't think so...
But you are right in saying that the NRL needs a successful Parramatta, now more than ever. Looking at the Rocky stadium yesterday you could be forgiven for thinking the game was at Cumberland Oval (maybe the grand stand was in better shape). Looked like 90% of people were wearing Parra gear. I'd like to hope the NRL sees this, but I just don't think we will ever get any favours from them.
All I could hear through the tv was the Newcastle chant.
Don't worry all Newcastle could hear was me screaming
I evened the score
Currently outside my house I can't fit it on my back window of my HRV
Your neighbourhood looks a very similar era to mine Carlo. What about the size of the old mans beards next door.

The next few pages to be leaked on 1EE on Sunday Carlo!
It's a fact that the Eels do have the highest membership in the NRL but I doubt this will sway the NRL in any way. As far as calls go there was an obstruction that led to a Knights try and although the defence was crap at best I have not heard the Video ref say Yes he takes Dylan Brown out but it was a defensive decision by Dunster that was the issue. The Knights player ran through and connected with Brown, Black and White rule any other time.
