The next six months we can predict - lockdowns, social distancing, no clubs pubs crowds, toilet roll horders a never ending list of isolation measures,

What can't be predicted is what happens next.

A crowded Eel's home game at Bankwest can only be considered once the epidemic has totally left our shores, but we may have to wait until it's eradicated worldwide before we can see crowded stadiums like this again.

The prediction must be - how long must we wait before a full house Banwest Stadium sign appears again ?

  • Great to see Bob Hawke at the game, back from the dead, champion!

  • First thing we need to do is punish china, and punish them very badly.

The whole world needs to get together and wipe their debt to china.

    • Agreed on that 100%; let's see which countries do this.....

      • 100% agree

They need to pay for this no doubt but somehow I don't think they will

We will all just get on with our lives and just cop it like we always do.

  • To start with one of the supposed health experts was saying the other day Corona virus looks like it is going to be like the flu and become an annual event.

Given the lower range infection and death rate from this virus . Based on figure I found this morning we have 1.4 million infected world wide with around 80,000 deaths.

Given the world population is approx 4.5 BILLION this is miniscule compared to other contageous diseases.0.03% infections with 0.0018% death rate.

However it does have a higher transfer rate than Inlfuenza - about double, but SIX times LESS than measles.

Now we hear the infection rate is slowing, or in fact dropping BUT Scumboat is telling us the major spike is coming late August and into September when we will see over 1 million Australians contract the disease.

Bottom line - no professional, big crowd sports during 2020 anywhere.

Forget it and LIVE IN FEAR BROTHER!

    • There is a risk of a second wave of infection if we lower the current social distancing rules. That's what made the Spanish Flu so deadly. There was a second wave the occurred and it caused a lot of the carnage.

      • im loving social distancing, we should keep it this was forever.

    • Your Figures are Totally Incorrect sir col. Firstly your figures are based on a world in current lock down. Also the virus is in its infancy in most countries but you're talking in past tense when making calculations

      • So Mr Goggle is not my friend Chief?

I goggled latest corona virus stats and these are what came up - and where is the past tense you speak of when you say I am talking of "current lock down"?

This thing has been around since late 2019 and you claim it is in its infancy - FFS

R U OK mate? You try and decipher the contradictory rubbish you have sprouted.

My figures are incorrect because I quoted CURRENT world figures?

Virus in its infancy? First reported case of this was Novemebr 2019. FIVE months ago.

I am talking in the past tense with CURRENT figures?

THIS^^^^^^^ children is why you should not do drugs when home alone unsupervised.

        If you want Australian numbers;

5988 infected with 50 deaths out of a population above 25 million.

Infection rate behind world average @ 0.024% with deaths @ 0.0002% of population, again well behind world average.

        Your problem is?

PLUS most of the cases in QueeRZland came off the cruise ships with all deaths also off the ships.

        • You are not taking the lock down into consideration col. What don't you get lol..

Look, eventually we'll have to open up the country. Lockdowns can only work for so long until the economy is broken for good.  I think after winter that will be it.  We can't lockdown indefinitely
