Corey Norman has to be in the mix for Queensland

I'm not sure where you'd put him but Corey needs to be in the QLD team somewhere. I realise that they have Cronk and Thurston in the halves, Boyd at the back, Inglis at fullback or centre, and a bunch of other quality players in the backline. Corey is in the form of his life and they'd be crazy not to tap in to how he is currently playing.Perhaps a bench spot where he can cover any of the backs.Queensland are smart and have shown that they are willing to drop an incumbent to make room for a very good player. Perhaps Cronk is in the twilight of his representative career and Norman is ready to step into his shoes.

  • Why would we want any of our players in Origin? More chance of injury, definitely more fatigue as a result of Origin, and we don't get those players for important club games. Not to mention that making Origin drives up player value and we don't need Norman asking for more if he makes the QLD side.
  • I was a big fan of bringing Norman to the eels but I don't think he has played to his potential until now. Let's see him play like that for another season or two then he might be in the mix when some of the experienced qld spine players retire
  • Farken hell go and give Qld ideas why don't you.
Kevvy is obviously close to Bennett, all it would take is for Wayne to tell Kevvy to put him in the 18man squad and his value would increase. This way giving a Qld side a chance of 'bringing him home' so to speak.
Definitely he wouldn't be out of place but as a club we don't want Norman being picked at Origin level until his next contract.
  • Norman is no chance unless thurston, cronk, morgan and hunt all have season ending injuries. Even then they would probably just renig on Milford's ban and bring him in.

  • As mentioned Mildford and Hunt are suspended this year for Origin for breaking curfew at pre season origin camp.

While Norman won't make the side ahead of JT, Cronk or Morgan

if one of them goes down with injury, the next options for QLD are Mbye, DCE and Norman and right now of those 3 Norman is in the best form.

There is huge demand for halves and Pezet is one of the best available, especially for long term value. He could have gotten $1M from plenty of clubs. But not from us,…"
