Corey Norman and the Eels Performances

This might be a bit harsh but it seems when Corey Norman has one of his half asleep games and his kicking game is off then the Eels are off. Just an observation but it just seems when Corey's kicking well and on his game we play well.

The eels have left many of us scratching our heads because the question 'how far can we go this year?', can only be answered by; it depends which side turns up. The same side that can really dominate the Broncos can get flogged by the Knights. i don't believe it's because French and Gutho are out but simply we are very inconsistent and I reckon a lot of it flows from how Norman goes.

Keep an eye out for Norman in the next few weeks! If he plays well the rest might follow

  • If we lose our next two games we wont make the 8 any way so have to win our next 3 games to make itand we need french back at fullback
  • Corey has had a very poor year even by his own standards, hes been missing between the ears most games out there, his running game excluding one game has been way down by his own standards, hes looked unfit as hes hands on hips blowing it after 5 minutes.

You are right James, a lot of our inconsistancy has come from Norman, a young moses has walked accross to a new club and outplayed him in many games.

We need corey to step right up next few weeks.

  • Corey was not mentally in last weeks game. Body language was poor at times . Such an influence on the team we need him in the zone every week moving forward
  • Yet, when Norman was out of a few games and only Mitch Moses was the dominant half then the Eels also won games.
  • Not really the team as a whole we're off against the knights. It was no coincidence that a couple of big runs for Matagi and Manu led us to a try just before half time, besides that few minutes before half time we were well being beaten by Knights.
    • Agree. Corey was poor the other night but he wasn't Robinson Caruso. In saying that, if he is to be a truly great player the clock is ticking on him producing consistent dominant performances.
  • Norman certainly had a bad game against the Knights. It it also seemed like the backs were out of sync without Gutho or French making the extra attacker in the line. The worst aspect of that fact was that neither Moses or Norman adjusted by straightening the attack (straightening their own runs). It would be good if the halves took control of the game plan when Plan A fizzles out
  • He was dreadful on Friday night, one of the worst games I've seen him play in ages! He looked so bloody slow with everything he did.
  • Looked slow , it was one of those games where he always gets caught with the ball. didn't organise anything , kickinng game was non existent , shanked the shit out of a kick for touch , let Brock Lamb straight through for their 2nd try and went for a no hope ankle tap , missed Fitzgibbon on his try .... deadset one of his worst games as an Eel. it was a horrible game by him. hopefully he had more luck with his other weekend games.
