Make good players want to come and good players wants to stay.
Yes, I know Fong, he'll still want good money, but we'll get him for a better price than we would have spent 3yrs ago.
Love hearing players speak like this.
COREY Norman is hellbent on earning a new contract at the Eels, instructing his manager that he does not want to talk to other clubs. Norman, 25, signed a three-year deal to leave the Broncos which ends in October. Named player of the tournament at the Auckland Nines, he will retain his spot as Eels playmaker on the left side of the field, with star recruit Kieran Foran expected to stand to the right of the dummy-half in coach Brad Arthur’s declared halves combination. “My manager is talking to the club now,’’ Norman said. “It’s up to me to play some footy early in the season and we’ll see what happens. “I’m pretty happy at Parramatta.’’
The skilful Queenslander has played 46 games in blue and gold after 63 games at Brisbane from 2010-13. Parramatta have recruited Foran, a New Zealand international, and NSW State of Origin regulars Michael Jennings and Beau Scott for a campaign in which the Eels are looking to end a six-year absence from the NRL finals. Corey Norman is hellbent on earning a new contract at the Eels.
Norman expects to play his first trial alongside Foran on Saturday week, when Parramatta travel to Penrith for a clash to be telecast by Fox Sports. “Hopefully we can link up in the last trial and maybe get 60 minutes or something out of it,’’ Norman said. “We have been training with me on the left, but we have the licence to go both sides of the field.’’
