I have been writing about this for years and finally someone is listening. When Melbourne play each tackle takes around 5 seconds as they get numbers into the tackle wrestle and effectively wrecked the game. A single tackler round the legs has been pinged for holding on for 1.5 secs and the fullback making the same copybook tackle is often sin binned which has often been laughable and inconsistent. Why should a player tackling individually not be allowed the same time as 3 or 4 players jumping in. The refs should be taught to count in their head.

Lots of players also get serious head injuries from poor execution of low tackles. Often with putting head in the wrong place, done in a hurry and under fatigue as well. The most effective tackles are low if properly made.
