  • What take a pay cut but can buy cheap block of land to compensate the shortfall lol
  • How come our players can't take pay cuts?
    • They can't take pay cuts to stay under the cap if they already have a contract in place, there is nothing stopping them from taking a pay cut on a new deal. I doubt this is a pay cut from Coote though. They probably just mean that he was offered more to join another club but knocked them back to stay for less at the Cowboys.

  • Fixed it.

COOTE URGES COWBOYS TEAM MATES TO TAKE LAND BLOCKS

  • Yes I seem to remember Israel Folau not being able to join the Eels on a reduced salary.

I would make the assertion that making agreements to fix commodities at a reduced price could be seen as cartel behaviour.

  • He's the only idiot that's taken a pay cut. Jt will retire and the other boys will take big deals elsewhere now that they've won a premiership. He'll be stuck at the cowgirls on a sinking ship like sbw was at the dogs.
  • Things like this are the reason the salary cap is a joke, distribution of talent my backside it's in complete opposition to the nrls policy the players should sign for market value

In terms of cap rules Eels should not have been allowed to get folou BUT considering other goings on around the time including Milford moving to the Broncos for 450k when the raiders offered 1.1mil the eels certainly should have been allowed to
  • I thought thats why we had TPAs, so there wasnt a restriction on players earnings.

Get the manager to do his job and find the player TPAs then the other players dont have to take cuts.

Isnt that how the NRL works?

    • Trouble is with all the stuff happenning to us then real TPAs for Coote (or almost 99% of NRL players) would not be forthcoming.

I cannot imagine many businesses in Townsville wanting any 2nd teir players as spokespersons. Most $$ would be for Thurston and Scott.

What real benefit would businesses get from NRL players? A = Not bloody much. That's why managers want the clubs to get benfactors (bagmen) because in reality hardly any players would get a bsuiness to give them a real TPA.

  • There is no way Coote is taking less money to be at the Cowboys. Coote is a Sydney boy. I'm sure he'd relish the opportunity to come back home if the money was the same or better
