Cooper Cronk's Predictions

Just watched the Matty Johns podcast, co-hosted by Cronk. Easily the best analytical NRL show.

Cronk tipped us to beat Panthers this week and thinks we are 'there', and can go all the way. He has noticed a different trend in the teams performances by comparison to other seasons (I too have felt this all year - I think BA intentionally changed tactics to be primed for now, rather than front loading the season).

Cronk also nominated Paulo as our most important player over the finals.

The stir in the stomach just keeps getting louder!

  • Cronk always talks favourably of the eels.

    • I have not noticed that. I've only noticed him froth over the Storm and Roosters, or anyone connected to their 'elite' systems - like Fitzy and Adam O'Brien (prior to him nose diving).

      • He liked us against the roosters, said it was the best half if footy this year. He was also positive when we beat the Storm.

    • He thinks that even though BA is coaching and JA is on the bench....... I swear listening to some here the sky is falling in and our  magic window is closed. mmmmmmmmmmm

        • Nah Toughmen that make it happen ride unicorns. It sure beats the bitchie little Whinning of some.

          • 😂😅🤣🦄🧚🦄

  • I have thought all year there has been a method in his madness by playing the player short for fitness reasons . Whether it pays off or not is another story. But I've been of the opinion this is a planned tactic for this end of the season.

    • Yep. That and the fact we didn't come out of the blocks like premiers. We struggled in our first game against the Titans and havnt been up for clashes with lower ranked teams like Dogs and Tigers. Not saying we got the balance right, but it's certainly been different.

In previous years, we looked like world beaters because we would lead the competition early, would hardly drop a game in the first third of the season, and would thrash the lower ranked teams. However, we never could manage to beat the best teams when it mattered and would always fade as the season wore on.

This year has been different, and no doubt intentionally. With the exception of the Bunnies, we have delivered against the best sides. Outplayed them, even when they have played exceptionally well against us - Storm, Roosters and Panthers. We are peaking at the right time, as opposed to fading.

We now have the belief and BA has proven he can take this team on a winning stretch.

  • Iv a feeling we're gonna win it too
