Continual Improvement - Next Head Coach

So of all the current elite (premiership winning) coaches who would take Parra to the next level, and who is the most desirable long term.
Personally, I am a BIG NO to a rookie or inexperienced head coach.

Bellamy (60) sounds like he's had enough and is thinking of retirement soon and enjoys life in Melb.

Bennett (70) isn't a realistic long term option.

Des Hasler (59) is struggling despite a great career.

Paul Green (47) is a shoe in for the Broncos job.

Shane Flanagan (54) would be a great fit if he was registered and available

Ricky...been there done that.

Michael Maguire.... since his premiership at Souths hasn't really set the world on fire and sounds like a pain in the arse.

The obvious stand out long term is Trent Robinson. The guy is only 43 and is clearly the best coach - his record is superior to Bellamy's.

But what would it take to lure him to Parramatta? Could we realistically snare him? For those more "connected" to the game what woukd it take or is it a pipe dream?

  • He won’t move from roosters I doubt why would you with uncle nick there

shane flannagan is the guy I said last night and mb we need to wait it out til registration with Clayton’s mark 2

  • Trent Robinson is an amazing coach but it is very unrealistic to even think that he would leave the roosters that's why Bellamy is the perfect fit even if it is for two years he truly can turn things around.

  • Robinson is the only logical improvement on BA. The rest are  about on par.
If you want Robinson our Board and CEO need to be making discreet contact now. Just opening up a dialogue with him, selling him the vision, giving him something to ponder for a while. Robinson needs to know he's wanted and that the opportunity is sound and well thought out, not some knee jerk reaction from a club in crisis (which is how most Coaching appointments are made). It's something that would take a year or two of delicate campaigning and negotiating.
For the right money and handled correctly I think the Eels would be a real chance of getting Robinson.

      • So you have evidence do you Brissyele. Nope. Just mouthing of again.

      • I hear you but a couple of things.
Robinson is actually a very smart man. Like high level CEO of a large corporation type smart. He does the corporate speaking circuit on leadership and performance management. His reputation is exceptional. He's not just an ex footy player type.
He's ex-Parra. Having some connection to the club is important and helps the team understand their identity.
Watch the Roosters play. Regardless of who is in their squad. They're so direct, they do everything at pace, always in your face. Yes they absolutely cheat the cap I have no doubt. But they also identify and most importantly they DEVELOP young talent.
Robinson is quality. I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever.

    • Frankie notwithstanding the club's capacity currently to do this, what would the broad components of the right deal look like apart from the obvious salaries and support staff ... you're probably best placed to have a informed thought and I'd be curious to hear your point of view on this.

      • Cough cough

        • Driza you stirrer.....Fongs POV on this comes from a better informed place than most and I'm for one interested in what he thinks

          • Mr Fong has replied below Embers . It is your chance to consider his fresh comments and to duly reply .

        • So what's the answer, what's the path forward, or is the NRL headed towards an EPL style oligopoly

Why did Sarantinos state after Arthur had been given his rights that "Brad Arthur"  had the " "final say' on recruitment.
