I've had some people congratulating me on Parra's GF appearance.
People that support other teams and that I have a fierce football rivalry with.
In my mind, I'm thinking "Get fckd. Don't play all Mr Diplomat with me".
I've never congratulated them when their team won the premiership.
So am I wrong to have this disposition, or is congratulating rival supporters a big wank?

It's a massive wank.
I like to rank the other 15 clubs (and their supporters) based on how much I hate them. Generally my hatred is correlated to how good their team is. So at the moment I hate the Tigers the least. Still wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire though...
Ive lived in Perth a fair while now , wifes family , friends and work mates know who i follow . Some know the history others have read or seen or heard on the news all week . They `re all AFL people whom only watch League at S O O time or GF day at least 20 have said good luck , hope they win , been a long time etc . I believe it to be genuine . The Eels have good support over here .
This time is different to 2009, although I am in England now I remember 2009 had a different angle because everyone hates Melbourne and it were a NSW v Victoria thing as well. I remember I had lots of random people wishing me well on Grand Final week and on the day of the game. This time around I doubt you will see the likes of Canterbury-Bankstown or Manly supporters wishing us well.
I had been happy for clubs winning premierships in the past e.g. South Sydney and Cronulla-Sutherland, in hindsight it was a bad idea as because their droughts ended the attention turned to us, maybe if Souths had not won in 2014 they spotlight would of still been on their drought and not ours.
I've got cousins who are either Dragons, Dogs, Tigers and Souths fans who are all wishing me we win because they hate Penrith's in your face arrogance.
Parra are likeable because we are cleanskins. Very few if any dogshots and zero arrogance. Give away least amount of penalties in the comp. I pretty much think that Nathan Brown is our single nasty forward.
I would say we are the cleanest side out of any of the sides that made the top 8. What it shows actually is that to be a better side generally you have to have a bit of c word about you. We are kind of an anomaly - our enforcers Paulo and RCG really don't like getting involved in any niggle and it seems that no one in the club is really interested at all in it that sort of thing.
