So on social media, it is a haven for abuse. If you are someone with thin skin do not go near social media. Anyway, Parramatta after a bad performance is a haven of negative comments, that is something i am fine with, you do get the odd "the coach doesn't drop the ball" claim which i absolutley despise in general, but on irks me more than others and not sure how everyone else feels about it but it bothers me. Saw on the team list comments on facebook someone post, and i paraphrase, how about these fans who bag the club put a jersey on, get 17 of you and see how you go. It is these flogs and pelicans that probably only watch 2 games a year and turn up to a home game when the team is on top of the ladder. When you are in a occupation you are expected to do a good job. People knocking Scott Morrison as PM? Well i could say why don't you go and be PM and see how you go? But we were not chosen to be in that role so we comment how we see it.
Performance can be subjective, though some performances more than others are fact. Nobody can claim that performance on Monday was acceptable and if someone says why don't you go out and have a go is a fan that accepts mediocrity, even the sturn BA fans here admitted Monday was dreadful. Yes we all get carried away to times where some say BA know's more than us, and he does at times, but there have been times where we have said stuff and it happens and works, not saying BA should listen to us though.
But it is this type of comment that just annoys me as if you are in a profession you are expected to give your all everyday of the week, if i teach a poor class for an entire term my princpal will ask what happened, so why are footballers protected? it is asinine. Yes they are more exposed than other professions. A call to go out and have a go is just unoriginal and a fan, if they are called that, that will sing kum ba ya if we lost 50-0 saying "Well they are professionals so they know what they are doing". Where were these people when Morrison was getting knocked and saying you do the job? It didn't happen as his job, like any other, was open to criticism and that is fair enough.
P.S. I merely used Scomo as an example, please do not make this another political blog as it has fatigued me. And please no hate, it is my opinion and something that i just get annoyed it as petty as it sounds. Hope others agree.

LB, the way I see it, there are two sides to this argument, and personally I don't really agree with either.
On one side you have the crew that just want to dish out abuse, and I'm talking real abuse, not some subtle sledge on 1EE. On the other side you have the guys saying, as you have quoted, "well you put on a jersey and run out on the field and do better".
To me, neither side is correct or justified. Ultimately we as fans are all consumers of the product that is the NRL. Even if all you ever do is watch NRL on free to air TV, you are a consumer of the product because you are subjected to advertising, which is where the FTA revenue comes from. So as a consumer of the product, you have a choice: Do you keep consuming, or do you walk away? Everything else is just hot air being blown by keyboard warriors the world over. And in saying this it is not meant to be a criticism of the general discussion and banter that goes on here.
You are a smart man MeelK... and gorgeous ; )
Hope you're well mate- you have been a bit quiet of late. I am always watching you, as you know xx
Bert, all good here mate, hope you are well too. Had a bit going on lately.
P.S. Next time you are lurking outside my window, can you take the bin out and mow the lawn please?
All I can say Meelky is you should be very grateful he is in Brazil, word has it that his parole is coming up shortly and he has some new tricks to show you.
Nice comment MeelK.
There are people who go way too far, i comment about the club but never make it personal, some people use death threats and make things really personal and that is the ugly side of it all, but "Why don't you go out and have a go" is just stupid, you are selected in a role you are expected to perform.
I agree mate, it's the epitome of stupidity. Anyone in a paid role is subjected to scrutiny and criticism.
The more you are paid the higher the scrutiny in my opinion. The old adage of when McDonald's stuffs up your order someone says "Well when you are paid $10 an hour i would not give a crap either". Not saying that is right but that is a belief of some, the expectations are higher with those who are paid accordingly, the more you are paid means the better you are at your job, not always the case so people can call it out.
I agree. I have a mate that always says higher pay generally equates to more responsibility. The exception really is the world of higly paid sports stars. They are so higly paid because of the lack of competition in their field.
Interesting you should mention MacDonalds LB, Snake was working there and complained about the wages, he was told simply.....you employ monkees you get paid peanuts..... Snake has never been able to take orders.
No matter how low BA takes the eels, some will defend him to the death.
