Coke signs on as NRL major sponsor

The National Rugby League has agreed to a deal with Coke following a decades-long affiliation between the substance and a number of the game's top players.

NRL boss Todd Greenberg says he is looking to use the deal to sweep any future positive drug tests under the carpet.

"This deal gives due recognition to the prevalence Coke has in our game. It provides us with extra funding that we can use to help pay off any future threats of blackmail from those in possession of videos of our players using the substance."

Mexican Coke representative, Joaquin Guzman spoke to 1 Eyed Eel from his federal prison cell, saying while he has no idea what rugby league is, he's looking forward to expanding his operation further.

"While the only football I've heard of is actual football, I'm happy to see my empire gaining a real foothold in Australia and this deal with the NRL will make our brand even more prevalent and noticed," Mr Guzman said via an interpreter.

It's believed Ben Barba and Corey Norman will be tapped as brand ambassadors.

  • The theme song for the announcement and also to be played at the Grand Final 2019 is Cociane by J.J. Cale.

    • Does that mean I will be able to get my coke no sugar at a cheaper rate by saying I support the NRL and the use of coke as a supplement

  • Ok, who hacked Super's account?

      • No, they are your words not mine. It's just that this blog is out of sync with the type of blog that you usually post.

        • I figured I'd change it up a little bit and have some fun with what's been a pretty horror offseason for the NRL.

          • Well it's not a terrible effort. I'll admit that when I read the blog title I thought it was a legit sponsorship for the NRL with Coke the drink.

  • Good blog, shame it like many others has resulted in childish argument and others trying bring it down with same old negative crap.
