  • Ya hoorah

  • Some will suggest it wasnt that bad and they should be given a second chance. But such people arent seeing the bigger picture. If you stop giving second chances the next generation that come through wont feel entitled and will be less likely to make dumb decisions.

  • I am all for such punishments; all for it;

    However we have seen many examples with our wonderful NRL of various misbehaviours (this was not even criminal But i get it is a terrible look for OUR game). What about guys like Flanagan the coach? allowed back after 12 months.....and he had two breaches from my understanding ( i could be wrong Peptides and involvment while suspended i think), and the many others who have been allowed back. Our leaders have made 'tough' decisions only to allow players / officials back after the dust has settled and the usual sob stories in the media. And throw in player managers.

    The NRL have needed to develop a strong code for ages and stick to it - no exceptions. If these two players were high profile do we think they would have been treated the same?

  • I hate to be the one to point out the obvious, but this all happened in Port Macquarie...

    • What ever.

    • Maybe the title is from 2004.

      • Nope. The memory. But I take the tip.

        It was the next town.

  • The rest of the year & fair enough I think, it’s not a criminal offence but it’s a morale offence, this has cost the club millions, it’s let the NRL down that have tried so hard to teach these morons how to behave. These players need to know they are representing the club, team & the game itself.

            • Absolutely spot on Poppa; this was not a criminal offence and it appears the girls and players etc were all willing particpants. It is merely a moral issue, and Poppa put it very succintly badge of honour etc.

              People talk about codes of conduct etc. plenty have been broken with clubs / players breaking contracts which probably peeves supporters off more than what these players did. And i get it about morality.
