Coachs v Teams

Which of these is the magnet, which draws the players to it ? Reflecting on players like Adam Reynolds, Cronk, Mitchell etc. Do  teams  like Roosters, Melbourne, South Sydney and their history, culture, money attract the players, or their respective coaches with the chance of learning more about the game, becoming better players, playing with better players and winning a title ?Along with your answer, what if anything does this say about Parramatta and its recruitment policy

    • It's a sad state of affairs Brissy. Unfortunately the NRL are complicit in all this, and they have effectively endorsed this type of behaviour. We won't see any real changes until there is real leadership at the NRL. I've never see more corruption in the game than there is right now. And to think that Toddy boy got on his high horse to utterly condemn Parramatta in 2016. Where are the reforms he promised? What has he done to improve the game during his tenure? Where is the leadership the game so desperately needs?

      • The game seems to be in good shape. We now have a womens league. The Pacific sland nations are getting involved.

Please explain the corruption you see everywhere.and the lack of leadership in the N.R.L. It is easy to make unsubstantiated accusations. What are the games desperate needs you are talking about?

      • The reasonParramatta can't afford stars os that BA spent theentire salary cap on complete bums like Takairang ect, Alvaro in the beginning of 2017.

Chief, what players in their right mind would’ve wanted to come here in 2016 when these blokes were re-signed... perhaps comparison examples of more recent signings further detached from salary cap days would help with your point.  taka definitely shouldn’t and Alvaro should not be resigned on what they offer lately.

Regardless we did make the top 4 in ‘17 though...so there goes that theory.

          • Why would Ponga want to go from a top 4 team in the Cowboys, to a three time wooden spoon winning Newcastle,  There's your answer.

            • Um, because they offered an 18 year old who had played just two NRL games $3m and the Cowboys couldn't.

              • Brett, you are talking in hindsight, but at the time the best judges knew that Ponga would be a bargain at that price. That's what separates the knowledgeable from the dopes.

        • Chief, Another one of your idiotic posts. Those two have played some decent games in that time and am sure that they were not payed $9 million.
