Brad Arthur- Eels junior who moved to Penrith and was told by Royce Simmons that he wouldn't make first grade. Accepted a job as captain-coach of Batemans Bay. Moved to Cairns Brothers after two season and spent 8 years there, winning four premierships and playing in six grand finals. 2007 joined Melbourne as Junior Development coach. 2008 appointed NYC coach and led them to the premiership in 2009. 2010 appointed as Bellamy's assistant. 2011 moved to Parramatta under SK and took over as caretaker late in 2012. Wasn't retained by RS in 2013 so he became assistant at Manly before moving back to the Eels in 2014 as head coach.
Peter Gentle- Played for St George in the 1980's. Began coaching at the Tigers as an assistant. In 2011 he moved to England coached Hull until the end of 2013 when he accepted an offer to be assistant under Brad Arthur.
One of the assistant coaches Steve Murphy was a teacher/coach at my school St Greg's at Campbelltown when I was there in the mid 90's. Daniel Anderson (my year 9 maths teacher) was also there during the same period and coached the 2nd grade side (this was just after Peter Mulholland, a highly successful schoolboy coach winning multiple Commonwealth Bank Cups, left St Gregs to coach the Western Reds).
From memory I think Steve represented Australia in touch football (he was a gun when he used to come down and play against the students on occasion). I also think I remember he has coached the 20's Titans side and may have assisted Cartwright there also.

"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
Samrani…"
