Coaching options for 2022

On a somber night like tonight, why not have some fun and discuss if BA's is wanted so badly who do we replace him with.

Realistically, he won't be sacked unless we fall to another straight sets finals loss or drop out of top 4 and lose however I want to know from people if BA was sacked, quit or retired (for blog sakes) who would you want to replace him?

I would start, if I had to pick person on the top of my list is Cameron Ciraldo from Penrith. Now I know the comments will be "just cause Penrith are winning" we when we had the awful 2018 season Ciraldo was the one I wanted back then too. He's a terrific coach and terrific defensive minded coach, young and relates to players, is wonderful with juniors being named under 20's coach of the year twice. He's a calm head that has been in the assistants for a while. He has in the past been known to turn down interviews more so staying with Penrith as it's comfortable for him and has expressed not knowing whether he wants a head coach spot at the moment, though recently was interested in leaving to Cronulla as an assistant then back tracked, I wonder why but maybe hoping a head spot may pop up and is willing to give it a crack? In the past he interviewed with Cronulla and was beaten by John Morris for the role and interviewed with Newcastle though pulled out.

if there is a concern on Ciraldo is that is he serious about a job or only with places he knows I.e. Cronulla Newcastle and Penrith he all played for in NRL. But if the interest is there I think he will make a terrific head coach.

if not him I think it is very slim pickings unfortunately

but have some fun and list some names

im not saying Sack Arthur tonight or anything just want to see who should be picked if we are wanting him sacked.

    • Why would Arthur do that? You can't have an assistant that is good enough to be an NRL head coach, conflict of interest in his eyes.

        • I do agree, im saying what i believe Arthur thinks as there is no other reason for not changing assistants.

  • We need better assistants

I'd chase Morris or McFadden for that Job.

I say aim high for a coach get Bennett or through everything at Bellemy.

In the end as mentioned before there is no transition plan in place the club have bet it all on BA and will end up regretting it

    • Well considering we have been on a re-signing spree, i wouldn't be surprised if a few players have a clause in their deal saying if Arthur is gone they can go too.

      • Surely Brad isn't held in that high regard that players would be prepared to have their NRL contract terminated if he leaves.

    • Replacing DK would be a good start.

  • Bennett is available

    • That's exactly who this group needs.

Weve got all the talent we just need someone that can harness it.

  • Forty years ago Parra bit the bullet, opened the wallet and hired the best coach in the game. We won immediately, is it time to open that wallet again.

    • Agreed. Bennett is available and the timing works.
