Firstly I am not sure what speed they want/need to go to. With Barrett committed to finish the season, do they wait and finish the year or near to before announcing the new coach? My preference is the sooner the better, assuming we get who we want.....and that means getting it right!
Firstly Talagi was mentioned in a blog as to say he should be on the wing, its the only place for him and the most sensical of any of the comments where he plays. He is not a fullback, doesn't even look like one. Simmonsson should be fullback in the absence of Gutho. I think he could be a relevation, he brings the ball hard and has the speed to cover tackle at the back. He can tackle by the way, the incumbent has no idea!
if Talagi is going to play FG it has to be as a winger (through his development period) or get him back in reserves!
Sivo is out the door and we should move him now and get that young Armstrong and groom him, pay him what the difference between what we have to pay to get rid of Sivo and Sivo's current salary. Basically it becomes a swap with a decent development period for the kid and we move on.....next grab that kid for Cronulla that covered for Hynes and develop him as a 14. He then covers the halves and fullback and is a first class goal kicker. Offer him the position! and guarantee he will be in FG as 14 and a back up for he two halves and the fullback, along with Armstrong who starts on the wing. If Talagi is on the other wing, you then have Lomac and Simmo/Penisini in the centres. History is showing that this depth is required.
That backline has something going for it !!! someone else can price it and of course the two recruits are asumptions. There is no question in my mind that Matt Arthur is the only worthwhile junior to come through at this point and Talagi from a perserverance perspective. He is already being manipulated by Isaac Moses.
I dont think we will get Chricton for the edge that we need......need to find two, and maybe a work horse like Guymer to stiffen up the pack. Cannot see why Guymer could not be developed as a hooker and MA starts now. Matterson moves to the middle, Lane gone and with this team maybe Hopgood will stay. Properly rotated the big middles we have should be enough.
Finally the English Coach McNamara is the answer as HC and Matt Elliot as a assistant or maybe even the Head Of Football replacing MON. The rest are deadwood anyway, but I still want to see what Barrett can offer, accepting he cannot be the HC. The HC definately needs to be able to attract players to the club and this bloke has got contacts in the ESL that are a higher standard than our so called depth!

I have quientened down Badge, I am only in the pool bar for about 6 hours of the day, 5 massages in 5 days and feeling a little drained..... just as a matter of interest cigerettes are $3 a packet..... between the smokes and the drinks, I am a little lost as I have nothing to punt on.

No where near Bangkok Chiefy but i did say hello to a busload of Taiwanese women as we were seeing off some Italian friends this morning. Don't worry I explained that Mr Chiefy is used to failures and is still very upset Mr Brad was no longer around to throw bombs at.
If we were to chase Armstrong from the Knights, I would definitely play him at fullback over Talagi or Simonsson.
