Before the NRL sinks to the ulimate supidity and annoits Arthur as the coach of the year, as some of the fantacy mob are propagating---aided and abetid by one or two brainless jounos on Fox I will set the record straight. In round three this year we . invited the Roosters to a game. They touched us up big time. They scored three tries in the last 10 minutes to put the icing on the cake for them. Arthur, Our Future and Saviour, sic, was the coach of that typical Arthurian performace. But the best was yet to come. Some weeks later up in Brisbane the Storm struggled to beat the Eels by over 60 points! A great performance by a great coach who some are seriosly suggesting that he is coach of the year. After the Brisbane debacle Spud Carrol contact the Eels and invited them down to his gym saying! he would show them what they were doing wrong. It was meant for the forwards but some of the backs showed up as well. I think they all had a go in the ring with Spud their opponent He gave the forwards an ear bashing etc. From that point on the Eels showed some improvement in form highlighted by L Evans who did well in the next game showing some agro in defence.Evans has improved mre as the season went on and as did the team itself. I understand that Spud keeps in touch with the Eels particularly Evans. It was reported on Fox during the week that Evans said the Spud is the only person he takes notic of these days! What a rap for Arthur!?-I don`t think! But Evans is right, Arthur would no know a thing about front row players where Spud would know all that needs to be known. Evans showed nothing under Arthur and they were trying to unload him. Evans improved formis down to Spud Carrol alone as is the improved form of the Eels generally. Thus, I want to suggest that the coach of the year is Spud Carrol. He gets resilts and is street smart rgarding Rubby League.After round three this year I gave my thoughts about the rest of the year--as is my want. I said the Eels would not win the competition--which is the only reason for being in the competition-- the Eels would not get the final four but the Eels could sneek into the top eight. That is pretty much what has happened in a season of upsets. I hope that they can get win on Sunday but every thing will need to go their way. Like getting neutral referres!

What a load of verbal diarrhoea. So maybe billy slater should get coach of the year for how well Ryan Papenhauzen is going. Or maybe Mick Ennis for how Hodgson is going. Well done to BA for sending his forwards to one of the best Props to play the game. Every coach needs assistance. Parramatta may not win the comp this year, but we are a lot closer than we were last year. Who knows, maybe we have another 20%, I’ll be cheering BA and the boys on regardless. Go Parra

Pork n Beans: If anything proves my point to the infinite limit it is that Paul Kent thinks Arthur is his No 2 coach of the year! While I am not interested, who would be his No 1 coach of the year? Mary M or Browny of Newcastle perhaps?
