Did the recruitment team view all coaches that were available when they resigned the current coach ? Or did they just sign him ? If there were other coaches did they interview and see what coaches were available?

Are the two situations analagous?
I don't know what that means
I would agree Pops. Subjectively it is sort of fishy....
Ol' Smiley runs rings around me Pops - guy's so advanced I understand little of what he says!
As for me, I'm just another doofus Eels fan lol!
Lol this has to be tongue in cheek!!!
TTPF, one of the reasons BA was extended was to provide certainty - now we can all argue about the merits of that decision however players and their managers want to know who's going to be the coach at the club if they are coming up for contract renewal or you're going out into the market place to get new players...hence why coaches are being appointed now for 2021 at the Warriors, Cowboys and Bulldogs.
So leaving it till the end of the year might work one one front but it puts you at a disadvantage in retention/recruitment because much of the horse trading has alrady taken place before season end.
yep. Certainty.
We all know 'certainly' how this will end. The "unknown certainty' is when.
yes mate, no guarentees how things will go overthe next 2 years, it's just part of the "why"
NO OTHER Coach was considered.
Why would our failure of a board and CEO want to move away from half a century of ingrained (and inbred) mediocrity?
Sir Col you do realise that the coach was still under contract right....so the board was never making a decision about changing coaches it was about whether or not to grant an extension beyond his current contract which still had a year to run...just so we are not mixing fantasy with facts
