His management approached the Club last week seeking permission to negotiate with other Clubs. This request was denied and the Club has a strong commitment to Charlie’s future.
The Club has been in regular contact with Charlie directly including this afternoon, and he has assured us that his position is unchanged and he is fully committed to the Parramatta Eels.
Comments attributable to CEO Jim Sarantinos:
“It’s disappointing that Charlie has been dragged into this publicly especially as he is recovering after surgery on Monday.”
“We have spoken to him this afternoon and he has confirmed his commitment to the Club and reiterated his excitement in being a part of the Club’s future.”

At least that is some affirmative action by the leaders of our club.
Good that the club has come out and smother the flame. Now can fcking Ryles start making an appearance and start to build some kind of rapport with the team? It's not like he's got a job at the moment. Some Senior players have said they haven't even heard from him.
If I was him, I'd be fcking so pumped about a first head coaching gig, I'd be going to every game. Even Madge was at the Storm-Eels game with his daughter!
Ryles is doing the right thing, stay away and let the problems expose themselves.
He was at the game
Good, now upgrade him to top 30 for 2025, extend an extra season to 2027 and move on.
Although in negotiations Guymer will be like "how about an option for 2027?"
MON will be like 👀👀👀 what a great idea
Ryles steps in and roadhouse kicks him.
Happy with Ryles doing that.
Reckon he would be able to do it too, Ryles is a big man. Reckon if you put all the coaches in a ring Ryles is at least last 3 standing.
Love it Luke
Charlie's Management apparently didn't even tell him they were going to request a release
If Charlie's management got him into this then he should disconnect now!
upgrade of the kid should've happened absolutely weeks ago. This is our fault tho!
