Cleary puts hand up for Origin

As we finally put the Pearce debacle behind us after a decade of disappointment. The question so often asked?Well who is better? The answer is clearly Cleary.I just hope the moron selectors remember tonight and not continue with Einstein's theory of insanity.

  • Wat a legend!
He got me a motza in fantasy league scoring 120!
I think that might be an all time record.
  • Nah they won't pick him Pearce is our best halfback loll

    • Yeah let him rot on the vine.Like Qld with Munster!
  • I think Moses will get a look in, possibly next year if he continues to play well. Cleary is playing well but we will have to see if second year syndrome sets in next season.
    • He is in his second season now
      • The Warriors were pretty bad which made Cleary look better.
  • Would want to see bit more consistency first. Remember Austin and Sezer were the best halves 2 years ago and would you want them as our halves.
Cleary hasn't set world on fire this year either other then handful of games.
Maloney deserves another chance and I think Moses is a smokey if keeps improving and takes parra deep into finals.
  • I agree. Despite the accurate assumption that he is young and he hasnt consistently set the game alight like tonight. He just has that feel about him, like Moses he just looks like he sees the game in slow motion abit (not quite at the immortal levels of Smith, Thurston and Cronk) but still pretty darn great. Loves to run too, speed to burn, silky skills. Powerful running game and a mesmerising kicking game. Might be in his and the states best interest to wait but we are too desperate and want him now!
  • Hang on mate, Munster had Cronk and Smith to take the pressure that allowed Munster to shine in the second half. Young Cleary would be expected to be the man from the get go, that's too much too soon, he is 19 and in the equally most important position on the field, he needs a couple more years in the NRL.
    • Exactly, the only reason Munster was a standout was because:
      1) NSW were shocking
      2) Munster has played games with Slater, Cronk and Smith
      3) Take Slater, Cronk and Smith out of the equation in Origin 3 it would have been a totally different game from Munster.

"Start Samrani either centre or wing. He smashed the sharks and the chooks. Was fast, tackle-busting and once he set his eyes on the try line it was curtains for the opposition.
I'd start him on the wing as not to disrupt Rusty and the combos set up…"
