So looking back at the history books it didn't take long to realise, this is officially the all-time worst start for an Eels team after round 2 ever. A record in 2018 of 0w,2l,14f,78a,-64d,16th (last) has beaten our previous worst in 1991 of 0w,2l,18f,82a,-64d,16th (last). Our only other first 2 round defensive start worse than 2018 was in 1991 too. What makes this worse than '91 though is our ability to score points not just concede. Our worst attacking starts are as follows; 1960 (3pts), 1979 (10), 1962 (11), 1957 (12), 1972 (12), 1963 (14), 2018* (14pts)*, 1965 (15), 1997 (16), 1955 (18), 1991 (18), 1974 (20), 1996 (20). As for defensive; 1991 (82), 2018 (78), 2014 (72), 1947 (69), 1974 (69), 1960 (68), 2004 (66), 2007 (65), 1992 (63), 1988 (62), 2003 (62), 1963 (61), 2005 (61) and 1952 (59). Makes for pretty bad reading boys! Need a huge result this week!!

  • And we also had a very poor start to the year last year, theres obviously something wrong with our pre season and preparation before games.

  • Does anyone think the Eels could be at 0-26 at the end of the season?

    • lol no, thats ridiculous, we will fight back and get in the 8, if we dont it wont be accepted.

  • Why do some clubs start season strong such as Saints and tigers. Although tigers brilliant this year they have started seasons well for a long time and saints have led comp for past 3 or 4 years.
Parra have struggled for years to win early in the season through a variety of different head trainers and coaching symptoms.

    • Nod with acknowledgement, very well done Browny, I admire you interest in both the Eels and Statistics, both a keen interest of mine. I'm not embarrassed I was wrong but I am keen to look further into our proud clubs history, I still have many many more years to discover and bare witness to the Eels biggest triumphs and sadly lowest defeats with everything between. Cheers man!!!

"Same, Kurupt. Whatever the outcome, Jim, Beach, Ryles and the club stood united and stood their ground when they were meant to roll over for the Storm and PLV, discreetly. Moses SC has also been brilliant."
