CHRIS Sandow has endured a torrid Super League debut with Warrington, with the Eels outcast jeered by Leeds fans during a 49-10 hiding from the competition leaders.A forward pass out of dummy half in the first half saw Sandow cop “What a waste of money” chants from Rhinos fans and things only got tougher from there at Headingley, as the Wolves fell to their heaviest loss of the season. The Parramatta Eels outcast tried hard and had some bright moments, notably laying on a line-break assist that led to a second-half try. Coach Tony Smith defended his new playmaker, who started in the halves alongside English star Richie Myler.Yet Sandow also his trademark struggles in defence and was also copping it on social media - with some taking aim at his condition.Sandow debuted just seven days after stepping off the plane from Australia, following an acrimonious exit from the Eels, so he will hope for a better outing when Warrington (now sixth) take on fourth-placed Castleford on Friday. It is a must-win game for the Wolves as they try to make the top four.Zak Hardaker scored two tries in a man-of-the-match performance for Leeds as they launched their Super 8s campaign in style with the romping win.All eyes were on Sandow on his appearance but it was the in-form Rhinos who stole the show as they avenged two defeats by Warrington in the regular season and continued their march towards another grand final.Chris Sandow of Warrington Wolves is tackled during his debut. Source: Getty ImagesSandow made some eye-catching early contributions and registered his first points for Warrington after converting Kevin Penny’s try.But Leeds responded immediately through Kallum Watkins’ 18th try of the season and were in a commanding position at half-time after further scores from Tom Briscoe, Hardaker and Danny McGuire.Penny scored again after the restart but a brilliant second try from Hardaker calmed any Rhinos’ nerves before Joel Moon, Rob Burrow and Carl Ablett crossed either side of a Kevin Sinfield drop goal as Leeds laid down a significant marker.Sandow’s first act as a Warrington player was to attempt a 40/20 which almost came off, with his second a half-break and an offload.
